I thought that I would start the daily since I plan on sleeping in late tomorrow morning or grabbing my camera and heading out to the parks to see if I can get a few more photos of spiderwebs.  I took the one below this morning.  Luckily the heavy rains the night before did not wipe out the web.  But I sure got lucky here.  When I looked closer at the first couple of photos I took in-camera, I noticed the intruder on the LEFT. There was going to be a faceoff for sure.  The spider on the right was standing his ground as the intruder on the left challenged him.  It is not often to be lucky enough to capture a face-off like this one.

Hey, I didn't want to see this week start without a daily.
So, here is a photo taken at a car show back in June of this year.  Glad to see that things are somewhat getting back to normal and this is a reminder to me to think of the positives and keep smiling.

They are more dedicated photographers than I am. Lying in wait in a snowed in hide, doesn't sound comfortable.

Grey days..

Yesterday morning we had nice storm-looking clouds that seemed to promise some much needed rain, but my area got none.

Still, it was worth taking a photo or two...

   

I tried to convert this into a selected color version for the current challenge, but the color was very faint. So I tried a pure B&W conversion...

Wednesday brought a mix of weather conditions here: strong sun and uncomfortable temps early, fat drops of rain for a minute or two in the afternoon, then cloudless skies and an intense sun at sunset.

On my morning walk around 8:45, the sun created strong contrast - not ideal for taking photos. But it also intensified colors, as the vivid blue patch on this fence lizard shows...

   

Well, its the middle of the week and they are already predicting this coming weekend to be all rain.
No motorcycle ride, no trip up to the mountains--no new photos unless we find an indoor event.

Good Tuesday morning all.
Well, the kids are back in school and I hope it is a good year for all.  Time to call my teacher friends and share the good feeling.  Our good feeling is that we did NOT have to lay awake all night worrying about the morning and have to go back to work after having the summer off.  

Here is a pretty little butterfly that I photographed in the woods up north.

Happy Monday Everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend.
Yes, we are finally getting some rain. We are less than 2.5" behind now.

I have been working on my quilt projects, hoping to finish up one int he next week or so.

Today, I'll be canning home made chili. It's so nice to have it on hand for quick meals.
I can it in pint jars which is just enough for lunch.

I don't have anything new so this is from the grist mill visit a few weekends ago.
We wanted to go back up this weekend, but they had heavy rains and flash flood warnings and the mill of course, is right on the river.

   

I'll kick off the weekend thread.

Any football fans? My alma mater had their first game Thursday night, but not being a "major" school it wasn't televised. DW will be watching both the Georgia and the Alabama games today. I will probably watch some but I don't usually stick around for the entire game - always something else to do.

I got new tires on the motorcycle but when I got home I noticed that the chain was way too tight, so I spent some time adjusting it yesterday. Not happy that the shop could not even get the chain adjusted correctly so I sure didn't want to take it back and leave it for them to "fix".

I'll have to take DS to work again today as his car is in the shop again and probably will be until Tuesday or so. Fortunately it isn't too far to drive but it is still a minor inconvenience to have to take him and pick him up every day. Could be worse I suppose.

Hello and Good Morning.
Off of lunch with a good friend but not before I start the eve of the long weekend's thread.

For tomorrow's FLICKR challenge, Flowers in Vertical, I was thinking of posting this.  There might be a good prospect in the backyard of flowers coming through a privacy fence, but I have not gotten out there to take the photo yet.  I am waiting to see how the sun plays with it
