Good day, folks.

No new photo subjects from me lately. But the day is young and I feel more energetic than usual today, so maybe I'll find something to photograph.

For now, here's a fence lizard taken late morning two days ago. You can see a bit of the blue throat patch that the males sport...

Good Monday Morning All,
Well, we survived some serious storms that blew threw our area last night.  We are one of the lucky ones; over 700,000 people are without power this morning.
I hope all is well with you.

I missed going to a photoshoot yesterday with the club. I woke up and didn't feel well enough to subject myself to about 5 hours of walking around in Detroit, especially since the high was going to be 86 degrees.  It is nothing but concrete and not much shade, so I thought it best to pass on this one.  Here is a photo from a previous visit to one of the historic buildings in Detroit.  At one time, there were a lot of stores with expensive clothing and accessories on the main floor.  Not too much remains of that fashion corridor anymore.  But here is a portrait of a manikin in one of the store window displays.

Good morning to all - hope you are having a great weekend so far. Looks like we may have another day without rain, at least for a bit. I think I will take the motorcycle out for a spin in a bit. I am going motorcycle camping next Thursday, just for one night at a nearby Corps of Engineer campground.

I think I have our passport renewal sorted now. At least the State Department has the forms (and fee) so if everything checks out we should get our new passports in about 10 weeks or so.

Glad to see Patty back and hopefully she will share some of her north Georgia photos with us.

No recent photos so here are some more from Iceland. The boat we went out on for the whale watch. Kind of rough with 10 to 12 foot swells. Never got to see a whale breach, but I did get some photos of it diving. Lots of competition for a spot at the railing. And a Great Northern Loon photo which was new for us. We ended up with 25 new birds.

TGIF Foto Friends.

With the weekend upon us, let's all get out there and party hearty.

That's unlikely for me: even if I could remember how to party hard, I don't have the energy to do it.

Earlier in the week I posted a photo of the blossoms of a potato plant. Here are two more, not so excessively dark this time.

1)  I think the small areas of warm color (some pots in the background) help counter the predominance of green...

2)   Same cluster, different angle...

Wishing you all a good weekend.

Hope you all are having or had a good day.

Every time I think the Ketchup & Mustard roses are doomed they rally. Here's one taken 2 days ago...

"Less and less activity until it eventually faded away into nothingness"

Good morning all and happy hump day. Note to all: If you are renewing passports, remember to enclose payment or they will send it back unprocessed. Smile
Yes, I did that...

Yesterday was actually a day without rain, at least until dark when we got .77 inches. So I was able to get in a nice 2 hour motorcycle ride. I rode mostly random county roads although I did stop at Dowdell Knob in FDR State Park - this was a favorite spot of president F.D. Roosevelt. They even have a statue of him there.

Hope you are having a terrific Tuesday all.
I felt that it was time to share one of my creations with you.
I used Dynamic Auto Painter to create this Water Color result and then add a couple of brush strokes here and there.

I hope you enjoy it and are enjoying your day.

Hello and welcome to the start of a new week.
I hope you all had a lovely weekend and a specially nice Father's Day.  Our two kids came over and we bar-b-qued steaks on the grill and had a nice dinner outside on the patio.

I plan on doing a little sewing today. I need to finish some of my quilting projects before I start others.  Unfortunately, shopping for material has been so much fun, especially in all the new quilt stores that my daughter and I discovered in the small towns up north.

As a matter of fact, the little town where this old jewelry store was had TWO quilt shops.  Oh my, what is a girl to do?

Have a great start to your week.
LORELL

Wide awake since midnight, so why not start our Weender.

A shot taken 4 days ago in our outer front yard. I liked how the white Alyssium was aligned in front of the Gazania...

Of course since it is Friday here, I can beat others to the punch and start a new thread. Wink

Dug this out of my archive and thought it is just sharp enough but also has a painterly look.

Rainbow Lorikeet in my apricot tree. They seem to like the apricot buds after the fruit has gone and the leaves are beginning to turn.
