Hello and welcome to the daily.
I survived the LONG weekend and hours upon hours of firecrackers and am glad that it is over.
Now we all have to survive the HEAT!

Here is a photo from last week's visit to the trailer.
I took this shot as I walked around the pond one morning.  The mist you see is NOT MIST, it is smoke!  In spite of the unfortunate conditions, it did make for a good photo opportunity.

No new photos from me lately, so back nearly 6 years in my archives for this one...

Good morning and Happy 4th of July to all in the U.S.  We have already been hearing fireworks for the past couple of days and I'm sure will hear more tonight. Personally not a big fan of fireworks.

I have been thinking about getting a "travel" camera for a while now but never found one that was relatively affordable and had all the features I wanted. But a photographer (professional as it turns out) acquaintance posted some photos she had taken at a concert with a Panasonic Lumix ZS-80 and after doing a bit of research, I decided it would be an ideal carry camera. Shoots RAW, small size, has electronic viewfinder in addition to the rear screen, etc. Went to BH Photographer to order and it was out of stock - same with Adorama. But I found a like new used one at MPB online and pulled the trigger last night. I should get it in about a week. I think it will be a great travel, street photography, and taking with me on the motorcycle camera.

I got some chores done this morning and have decided, I just might sew for the rest of the day. Or maybe not.  BECAUSE It is a very overcast day and perfect for taking photographs of flowers.  So, maybe a trip to the local nature center for some floral shots.

But until then, I will share this one that I grabbed up north.

In whatever form you see it.
It is our most important and precious resource.
At any time, there is only 3.5% of fresh water anywhere on earth.
OK, in a lot of your part of the world you are either choking on smoke or uncomfortably sitting out 97˚F at 8PM.
Me I'm doing -3<0˚C overnight to 14<19˚C during the day.
But a frost is the same as a 100 degree day in the drying out effect on plants and soil.
So however you see water, it is a beautiful thing that we all have in common with every life form on the planet.
The one thing none of us can do without, for very long.
It even does art for us.

Last day of the month y'all. And the year is already half gone too.

I did an overnight motorcycle camp last night, just up the road at a Corps of Engineer campground. It was probably a bit too hot to be tent camping because it wasn't too pleasant. I at least needed a battery powered fan for the tent to help with sleeping. Also determined after the second time camping with this tent that I am too old to be crawling in and out of a tent, so I think I am going to upgrade to something just a wee bit larger - one that I can actually stand up in.

Camp all set up, time to relax and enjoy a good book by the lake.
