Good morning everyone. Already Thursday. Today is going to be a day of rest for me, I think. Nothing planned at all... that being said, I should probably take my Yashica D out and shoot that roll of film since it is loaded and ready. But it is already 80F and only a bit after 8 AM.
I don't have any long guns, but I do still have a few hand guns. Since we are sharing I took them out of the safe for a photo shoot.
Also made a short, 3 minute video from my ride yesterday. It is low res, not sure how to post a high res video to YouTube. Pay no attention to the black and white clips, I was playing around with some effects.
Good morning folks, it is 0540 and 77F here this morning. Going to be warm today but no rain in the forecast. I'm trying to decide what cameras to take with me on my ride this morning. I know I will take my Z6 with the small zoom lens, and maybe my Yashica D which I haven't used in a while. I'll have my GoPro mounted so I can get some video of the "skyway" as well. I am hoping to be geared up and ready to go before 0700 as it will take me a couple of hours to reach the point where I will get on the skyway. Hope to have some photos to share later today.
I also have a photo of a gentle wild creature; I took it early in the morning a couple of days ago, before full light. Because it was still rather dark, I was pleasantly surprised that it came out reasonably sharp and not too grainy...
I see rabbits on one street along my usual walking route fairly often, and I'm sure there are far more of them that I never see. I guess that's one reason we also have coyotes wandering in the neighborhood in both the early morning and the late afternoon.
Good morning all and welcome to the last full week in July. Time flies...
Took advantage of the nice weather and somewhat cooler temps to take the bike for a spin this morning. Got in a little over 70 miles on some 2 lane roads. Nice ride. Used my phone to take a couple of shots.
Got back from our trailer yesterday afternoon. It was tough trying to stay cool. Our portable air conditioner worked really hard all day long, but thank goodness we had it, otherwise, there was NO way we could take the heat in that metal box we lived in for the few days that we were up there.
The boat is in the water, but the timing of the launch was delayed and due to high winds, I did not get a ride on it. That is okay, we will have lots more opportunities the rest of the summer cause it looks like we will have plenty of warm weather.
Well, here is another photo that I hope will cool you down. It is a view of Lake Michigan in January. That is snow and ice on the beach. I presented this at last night's meeting for the topic SUNBURSTS/STARBURSTS. It was received well.
Happy Wednesday, all! Try to stay cool! It's only going to get worse as the week goes along!
This Yellow Garden Spider found a shady spot to build her web......I usually see so many around the farm, this year, not so many.....
Wow is this month flying.
How is everyone?
It's raining here so our morning walk is postponed.
I am out of current photos so I'll post a photo of our
recent set up at DDs at the ranch in central FL.
The camper is a 16' Toy Hauler (we can fit both of our motorcycles in it)
it has a galley and shower/commode combo.
Fridge, furnace and AC.
It's a pefect size for the amount of camping we do.
Our tow vehicle is a Toyota Sequoia (4WD)
I picked up all my photos yesterday from the gallery and unfortunately I didn't sell a single one. A few members sold some, but not many. I may have "priced myself out of the market" but I think too many times in the past I have practically given prints away and I didn't want to do that. Besides, I don't really do this to make $$, which is why I have a lot of framed and unframed prints laying around.
I'm posting a couple of the B&W images from last week, showing what they look like. Since one if from the Pressman and one is from the pinhole, I think it has something to do with the processing. Following that logic, and since I only use the developer one time (I mix it fresh from concentrate each time), I think the fixer may be shot. I looked back and see that I ordered it in March of 2021, and even though I keep in an opaque bottle under the sink, it very possibly could be too oxidized now. Anyway I am going to buy some new fixer and try it again.
Edit: Did a little research and apparently the shelf life of the chemical I use is 1 year undiluted and 6 months after it is mixed for a working solution. So yeah, probably the fixer was bad. Surprised I didn't have this issue before now. Lesson learned, keep up with when it was purchased and replace as necessary.
No big plans for the week for us, other than going to the movies Wed to see "Where the Crawdads Sing". DW read the book and wants to see the movie. I started the book but couldn't get into it, but the movie looks promising.
