Good day everyone.

Here's another shot of the same orb weaver spider I posted yesterday, taken after I re-positioned myself 180 degrees, so it turned out less illuminated...

I wish us all a good weekend.

Good morning folks. Looks like warm weather is returning to Georgia, but not as hot as it was a few weeks ago. No rain either.

Here's a couple more from W. Va. The second photo is of Thurmond, W.V., an almost ghost town. The current population is less than 10 as I recall. Interesting place to visit. As with many of the abandoned or nearly abandoned towns that the railroad passed through, the train still does. Even stops at the Amtrak station sometimes.

I took an early walk yesterday, so early that this west-facing scene of utility meters behind a sushi restaurant got no direct light from the brightening eastern sky and very little from the still dark sky overhead. So I had to shoot at such s slow shutter speed that I was quite lucky that the shots weren't way out of focus due to hand shakes.

Took it into Camera Raw and increased exposure 100%, then into PSE for more exposure adjustments followed by extensive noise reduction. A little USM here and there gave me this...

I think it turned out slightly interesting but I wasn't happy with the colors so I converted it ti grayscale and slightly tweaked the value contrast for this B&W version. Not sure if it 's an improvement...

We had our local college Homecoming Parade last Saturday. I mostly shot video and here are a couple of stills from the video.

Good morning - we made it back yesterday from our West Virginia camping trip. Gonna be a busy day today... wash clothes, mix chemicals, develop film, process photos, clean the camper, etc. Plus I am giving a presentation tonight to the photo club on our trip to Iceland. I'll try to catch up on FF sometime today or tomorrow, but I'll share this photo from the trip before I go. This was an old mill at the campground where we stayed. This is a quick process of it, I might go back and try to tweak it some later.

HAPPY SUNDAY ALL,
We enjoy eating at a cute little mom-and-pop restaurant when we are up north.  They have good food and a friendly staff.
The name of the restaurant is "SUGAR CREEK".  There is a mess of signs on the walls and other country-like decorative KNICK KNACKS all over the place.  This one caught my eye. Taken with my cell phone (portrait mode).

Blessings to all,
LORELL

Good morning Foto Friends,
Well, I woke up rested this morning and am in the middle of defrosting my downstairs freezer chest and doing laundry.  As I wait for all of the frost to melt in the freezer, I thought I would drop in and say hello.

"Hello"

How about this HOT ROD to start your engines this morning?
LORELL

I can't let us go 2 days without a Daily.

Another shot of Tuesday's sunrise; this one a bit more colorful...

Yesterday's sunrise lacked the full range of warm colors that I find so captivating. But it sure did feature strong cloud patterns and a nice range of values.

This photo is about 70% to 80% SOOTC; all I did in processing was to nudge a few settings a little here and there and remove some unwanted electrical post and wires...

9/11 – a somber anniversary for the US. FDR's words after another heinous attack apply here: “... a date which will live in infamy...”

I wish I had an appropriate photo that captures my emotions on this date, but I don't.

Here's a shot of an unidentified flower taken yesterday afternoon...

I posted an new shot in the WhatIzIt? thread. Hope it will be less difficult than my last one.

May all of us have a good week.
