I thought nobody's posting anyway and it is Saturday here. So by the time it gets to Saturday there, someone may be reading.

Heres another of my "here be dragons" posts.

Happy Hump Day.

I am still going through my photo archives, and I stumbled on a folder I thought I had lost: photos of the three dogs who were beloved members of our family.

Our current dog is a Westie named Pippin, and we got him from a shelter. We think he's around 12 or 13years old. He is slightly smaller than the average Westie but has that terrier attitude - he thinks he's a large dog trapped in a small dog's body. You've all seen photos of him so I won't force more on you.

Our first shelter dog was a mixed-breed terrier. She looked like Chewbacca and that's what I wanted to name her, but wife & kids would have none of that. We named her Hazel. She was abused before ending up in the shelter and it took a year for her to stop cowering at loud noises. But she was such a sweet soul. She was very special to me.  Here are two photos of Hazel:

1) Posing like a sphinx...

2) And a good look at her expressive eyes...

And our first dog was also a Westie. We got Guinness from a family in our city. Although the runt of the litter, he turned out larger than average for a Westiie.Guinness was pretty smart and definitely stubborn, but also loving and endearing.

2) Guinness as an adolescent at about 14 months old...

3) And a photo my wife took of me holding baby Guinness (both of us looked a lot younger the) on New Year's Day 1999 - the day we brought him home...

Hope you are having a terrific Tuesday.
It is soooo cold here.  I am even cold inside the house!
Maybe I should go make some nice hardy soup to warm me up.
This squirrel is cold too. (because he is stuffed!).  I took this shot at a display at the nature center.

Hey there photo friends, how is your day going?
It is snowing again now after a dusting of the white stuff that fell yesterday and overnight.  It made for slippery roads and several accidents throughout the area.  It is time for the new drivers to get use to slipping and sliding for the next several months.  It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the crazy drivers that think that they still can travel at normal speed. I am glad that I don't have a small car, I feel much safer driving in my Lincoln Nautilus.

Because we have more  members in our photo club this year, we have been asked to only submit 10 photos for our annual Christmas party. That sure is a lot more doable than the usual 20 images, especially since we aim at submitting new photos that have never been viewed at a previous meeting.

I shared one yesterday with you in the weekender thread, the staircase.  Here is another that I just tweaked a little, cropped, vignette, sharpen, etc.  I think this one may make the cut.

Good afternoon all.
It was a good morning to sit with my laptop and work on some photographs for next month's Photoclub Christmas Party.  This year we will be bringing 20 photos for sharing with other members at our gathering.  So, I worked on a few including this sprial staircase that I processed in TOPAZ to bring out some details, colors, and highlights.  It is too bad that I cut off the arc on the far right side. I checked other images but all were chopped at this point.  Bummer.  I am sticking my neck out by possibly adding this one to my Christmas collection since we have one photographer who is an expert architecture photographer. Dang it, I was so close.

I hope your Sunday is going well,
LORELL

TGIF everyone. And I hope all had a good holiday.

I'm still going through my archives searching for photos for Flickr. Got 177 there and more years of photos to pore through.

Here's a shot from a few years ago of a Wayward adolescent Great Egret. I spotted it walking around my neighborhood - had never seen that behavior before. I finally realized it was hunting for food when I saw it with a fence lizard in its beak...

Happy Thanksgiving all.
Wishing you the very best as we spend the day here in the States counting our blessings.
Hopefully, you have family and friends to share the day with.
Thank you,  ALL OF YOU, as you are recognized as MY FRIENDS.

LORELL

PS.
I didn't have any pictures of turkeys so I went to Deep Dream Generator and now that you can put in TEXT for AI to generate a photo for you, I typed: TURKEYS, FARM, SUNSET.  Here is the image that was created by AI.  How about those turkeys?  How would you like to clean and cook those?
I thought it was so funny that I needed to post it.

Tuesday/Wednesday greetings all!

Here are a couple of scenes from the grounds of Dollywood Resort in Pigeon Forge TN.

My room had bunk beds for the kiddos!

Question, what size do you make your photos to post on Flickr and are you concerned about theft?

Another week has begun.

Why do the days pass so quickly when you are in your sunset years?

Black Phoebes are a favorite subject of mine. Here's one from long ago that I don't think I've posted recently. (Please forgive me if my memory is wrong.)
