Monday Monday, so good to me...
One of my better photos (taken 2015-06-29) was of salsa ingredients in a molcajete.
So I had another go at the same subjects. IMO this one isn't nearly as good as the one above, but here it is anyway...
Shown in this photo taken and processed yesterday are: a large store bought onion, two store bought vine-ripened tomatoes, a large home-grown banana pepper (rather hot), a very hot Thai Dragon Cayenne Pepper (also home-grown); a small home grown jalapeno, and two small home grown hybrid tomatoes.
Salsa ingredients not shown are: a larger home grown jalapeno that ripened to a lovely red color, a few cloves of store bought garlic that I'll char in their skins then mince through a garlic press, some store bought limes for enough fresh juice to brighten the salsa, and a bit of salt & pepper.
All but the cayenne will be charred under the broiler then rough-chopped , remembering (I hope) to save the delicious mixed juices from the chopping. I may add some thinly sliced scallions and perhaps some charred tomatillos.
