I've seen Western Bluebirds only a few times in my neighborhood - they prefer higher altitude forested areas.

But while walking late yesterday morning I saw a flash of blue and spotted a lone male and managed a few quick photos.

First, he's leaving a perch on a driver's side mirror...

And here he is on the roof...

Well Tuesday afternoon for me.

Here is a bird known as the grey butcherbird at the nest in a tree I panted forty years ago.

Work is progressing on the murals.
One of the "new" 7 Wonders of the World. Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro.
Included a wide shot showing our City Mascot Cornileus. Lots of photos taken of it. The Chamber has an employee dress up in a costume for special events.

Show us something that says October in your country, city, or simply in your mind.

It could be a landscape or seascape, flora, Halloween if that's recognized in your area, and scores of other subjects.

A neighbor puts up creative decorations for many of our holidays, and this month it's for Halloween.

Here's my first example...

TGIF friends (and TGIS to MFI).

I out in some work on the front yard this morning, digging up 5 or 6 ugly woody plants. I can't tell how much back discomfort the next couple of days will bring.

After I filled up the big green bin for pickup today I noticed that even 1/3 through October I still have some peppers I need to harvest.

1) Last week Rich shared a nice photo of a tri-colored pepper. This banana pepper goes a step further: yellow, orange, red, and green.

2) My cayennes were productive this year; I should have enough dried cayenne pepper flakes and maybe cayenne powder to last well into next year.

3) This is one of 3 remaining red jalapenos. All three are wrinkled, suggesting that I should have picked them several days ago.

I wish us all a good weekend.

Happy Day all,

I just finished posting this for the Macro Monday "wood" challenge.
This wooden spool of thread is the only one that I could find in my collection of spools and I have a bunch.
Have a good start to your week.

We had our Oktoberfest a couple of weeks ago with a huge car show. One came in I have never seen before. A 1953 Pontiac Chieftain Convertible. Just a beauty. Has a new engine, not the original.

Friday already> (Saturday for MFI.) So I wish us all a fine weekend.

Despite it being warm here (and hot elsewhere) I find myself thinking about fall colors.

So I returned to a 100% digitally created image originally taken 14 years ago. I just re-edited it, cleaning up some unwanted bits and tweaking saturation and brightness, making some areas more intense and others less.

Happy Hump Day.

I don't think the wheel is supposed to look like this...

Good Monday is the week's first day and last day of the month.

It is starting to feel like fall around here as the leaves start to accumulate on the ground.  Even though the colors are pretty, I hate the thought of bare trees.

This photo was taken while driving on the tour bus in Michigan's UP.
I call it country roads and railroad tracks.
There is one thing about this composition that dates ruins the "old time country feeling of this photo", can you find it?

LORELL
