Our second day of rain, light to medium in my area but heavier to the north, northeast, and east.

So I did some wet belly photography in the front yard and I think I got some keepers, including this one...

I hope you all are having or had a good day.

Happy Hump Day.

Part of our front yard is enclosed by an old fence and thrown into shadow by a very large Jacaranda tree. Every part of it gets direct sunlight for no more than 10 minutes a day.

So it was pure luck that I was able to get this shot of a succulent bathed in a ray of sun...

MFI, I hope your discomfort now that the anesthetic has worn off isn't too severe. Odds are that I may end up in the same boat; the arthritis pain in both of my thumbs seems to be steadily becoming more acute and harder to tolerate.

As they say, getting old isn't for sissies.

We're in for 2-1/2 days of rain. Probably not heavy in my area, but intense in the areas of our recent fires. This brings a real possibility of debris and mud flow washing toxic chemicals into the unburned areas and possibility into reservoirs and even into the ocean. Not good.

Hi all.
I went grocery shopping this morning prepping for the big snowstorm that is supposed to barrelling through starting tomorrow afternoon.

I hope you are doing well, Peter, and recovering from the operation.

I am working on some photos for next week's club meeting. We have "color creative topic", change a photo so much that it looks like it was manipulated to the max.

I took this photo two weeks ago at Stahl's museum.
When I got home I was surprised to read the following on the running board:
 Beam 750 ml
 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky
Bottled By James B Beam Distillery CO., Clermont Beam, Kentucky
100 MONTHS OLD

This is a Whisky Decanter!  I could not see where this "bottle" opens up.

Photo #2, running board sign
Photo #3, original photo

I've been posting floral shots from the outing Photo friend Sandy and I took too Huntington Beach's Central park on Feb 1.

I've saved what I consider the best for last...

Have yourselves a good week.

Welcome to the weekend.

We got a little rain the past few day; not much here by the coast, but more at higher elevations. And fortunately fewer than feared reports of damaging mudslides in the many burn areas left unprotected after our recent fires.

Another floral shot from a garden area of our Central Park...

Yellow & white roses, especially if adorned with dewdrops is as favorite subject of mine.

Starting this because it is Friday 5:34PM in my part of the globe.
Also because Dave wanted someone to do so. In order that he can test the notifications.
We've been having storms passing lately. like 40˚C and storms. A lot of lightning and lots of fires.
Here's one that passed within a kilometre and never dropped any rain here.
It went from this.

To this, in 15 minutes.

An hour later it had finally passed far enough away for the wind to settle down here.

and finally was all gone.

Happy Hump Day!

Here's another of the florals I took last Saturday in what I call Volunteer Garden at our city's Central Park...

Once again I haven't identified it/

I wish us all a healthy, creative and safe day.

I mentioned yesterday that I have at least 3 more florals from an outing to our Central Park a few days ago.

As usual, I haven't a clue what these plants are. But I like the richness of the colors, the varieties of forms, and the sense of energy in this one...

Stay safe and well, everyone.

"Monday, Monday, can't trust that day..."

I have two floral photos to share from our recent outing at the HB Central Park. For many years  team of volunteers have tended a large garden area; lots of flora and typically a great location to see lots of hummingbirds.

A large blossom of some sort...

And some quite tiny blossoms...

Started this post because no one seems to be starting many posts.

Haven't done a lot of photography lately. Though I did catch a couple of shots of birds using a sprinkler to bathe and drink.

You can vaguely discern two birds behind the sprinkler.
