The birdies are a flutter and the sun is shining. Much cooler today at only 36˚C.

Not much to take a photo of around here except the frozen tundra. Here is the pool room in Elvis' Graceland Mansion, Memphis Tennessee. I was there in 2016. You can just imagine the parties in there!

Good day friends! Our South Dakota weather has been very kind to us since before Christmas. I spent Christmas at my Daughters home in the Black Hills area. Temps were in the 60's and 70's. Will be in the 40's this week here. Here is a photo of a glacier from a trip to the Canadian Rockies.

That's what it is here. The last afternoon of the year. So I'll get in early with the Happy New Year thing. The fireworks start after dark.

Took daughter and granddaughters out to the local National Park for Boxing day. 24˚C. A beautiful day for our summer. Normally 45˚c on Christmas.

Dry out there though. Saw two monitors (goannas).
One, the Lace monitor. All of two metres long. 





and two, the smaller approx one and a half metres. Gould's monitor or samd goanna. Here utilising an old wombat burrow.

Good day all.

We've had rain here for about 11 of the past 15 days, with more to come. But despite the threatening look of this shot taken early this morning there'll be no rain today: it should startmid-morning tomorrow, get heavier overnight and very heavy on Jan 1 and continuing for 4 or 5  days after that.

Happy weekend!

Here's the final of the Rose with Dewdrops photos that I took last month. To my eye the nice light gives the petals a pleasing glow.

   

As usual it was just a case of being in the right place at the right time, camera in hand, and keeping my eyes looking for what scenes Mother Nature presents, and trying to expand my imagination so I could see a potentially good photo that I could have missed
