  Weekender Nov 30 - Dec 01

Good morning all. So, DS called last night about 7:45 saying his car wouldn't start. Called back as I was on my way saying he got a jump and the car was running. My tasks for today are to take him to work, then (if the car will start) drive somewhere to get the battery tested and probably purchase a new battery. At least I hope that is what it is, which from all indications it will be. Always something.

I doubt anyone on here watched the Georgia - Georgia Tech football game last night, but it took 8 overtimes for Georgia to win. And while I am glad Georgia won, I have to say that honestly Ga Tech outplayed them the entire game, until the last 5 minutes or so. Which I missed because I went to bed.

Here is a more lighthearted image to start the weekend. I'm going to milk these images as long as I can.  Came back to the ship to find multiple gulls perched on one of the mooring lines, so I took a shot and cropped down to this one.

Thought I'd have a go at camera movement.
It was during this mornings sunrise.

Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate.

We have rain here today as a cold front moves through. Next few days we will have lows in the lower 30's F. I did get a short ride on the trike a couple of days ago, but at least for the next week or so it will remain parked.

As we approached Amsterdam on our river cruise, we stopped so that we could visit some windmills. DW and I elected to ride a historic barge to the oldest windmill, and I captured this photo as we cruised along the canal.

A lot of folks must be busy this week - not much stirring here.

Here is an early morning image taken from the ship. Lots of fog which kept the passengers from seeing a lot  on shore, but I able to work with this one to get a fairly decent image.

Good morning folks, and welcome to another week. This year will soon be gone.

A bit warmer here at 46F, about 10 degrees warmer than yesterday. I might take the trike for a spin this afternoon.

I played with the shot taken from the riverboat a bit, since it wasn't the best shot in the original form. Some Topaz magic made it a little more interesting IMO.

Good morning all. We made it back from our European trip in one piece, more or less. Both have bad colds (we hope that is all it is), and DW is suffering with a bad hip or back. Can hardly get around right now. The last couple of days were pretty rough on her but she pushed through like a trouper.

Still in the early stages of image processing, but I played with this one yesterday and applied some Topaz filters to create a sort of surrealistic image of a sunset in Budapest.

I have gone through most of the threads posted over the last month and appreciated all the great photos shared.

  A Walk atthe Wetlands -- 2024/11/17
Posted by: Dave - 11-21-2024, 08:10 AM - Forum: Dave's Photos - No Replies

This thread will replace the Daily dated 2024/11/20, which I will then delete.

I'll add more photos from that nearly 3 hour walk and try to arrange them in chronological order.

Good day, Foto Friends.

Just wondering if anyone has heard from Lorell; I hope the surgery went well and she's on her way to recovery.

I've been working on more of the photos I took Sunday at the Bolsa Chica Wetlands.

1) This shot of a California Towhee took a lot of processing because all of the bird but the tail was in a rather dark shadow. I did the best I could with it...

2) Brown Pelican in non-breeding plumage and a Grebe of some sort...

Yesterday fellow local photographer Sandy and I took the short drive to the local Bolsa Chica Wetlands Ecological Preserve. We got there around 6:45 AM, and hiked for nearly 3 hours. Sandy is 7 years older than my 75 and could have walked me into exhaustion but I think she took it easy one me.

My 360 photos were mostly rejects, but here's a long distant shot of an Osprey - I lke the minimalist feel to it...

Have yourselves a great week.

A shot taken two days ago of intense early morning sun illuminating ivy leaves on a cinder block in our inner front yard...

For me this one is all about the pure and vivid red and green colors.

I wish you all a great weekend.
