Hello friends,
Here is another cell phone from within-the-CAR-through-the-front-windshield shot.
I decided that if you cannot use is as a clean natural shot, you need to adjust it so that it looks intentionally manipulated.
Good Day, all,
I keep getting sidetracked with things; before you know it, the day is over.
I need to focus on digging up 10 photos for my club meeting next week. In the past, I made enough cannolis for everyone and even a few for our Pres and Vice Pres to take home to their wives. But I won't be doing that this year. I have an excuse, "still mending from my hip surgery".
The reason why many of these photos are so heavily post-processed is that they were taken from inside of a car and through a windshield. I took several potential captures as my hip started to fail me and I was unable to get out with my camera. But although I liked the composition, the quality of the photo was drastically minimized like this one.
The story behind this one is that the young Amish boy walked a girl home and then turned around and headed back for his own home. Notice the buggy tracks on the road.
Heavy rain expected here for the next couple of days. Also, DS's auto continues to give grief. I am going to see if our local mechanic shop can take a look at it today (or soon), if I can get it to start. I'm suspecting now that the started may be going bad. Time will tell. Meanwhile I will be ferrying him back and forth to work and back.
Since we are not having too much activity, I almost made this the week of 8 December. Might have to start doing that.
This image was pretty soft to start with, but I used Topaz to sharpen it up. Did a pretty good job. I thought her expression was interesting, sitting in the park with a cup or some kind of container.
It was a cool and slightly foggy early morning here. Ron's roses continue to suffer from neglect. I managed one photo that seems to combine a fairly nice looking blossom with clear signs of deterioration, and as a bonus there are nice water droplets on some webs.
I thought I would post a few snapshots from a "shopping mall" or market that we visited in Budapest. DW wanted some paprika (I didn't realize there were so many types), so we visited this market where they sold it. Among just about every other foodstuff you could think of. Interesting place.
Now, having said paprika, I decided to make some Hungarian Goulash yesterday. The recipe I used required quite a bit of prep work to chop onions, tomatoes, bell pepper, and crush some caraway seeds and frankly, I was disappointed in the results. It was tasty, but to me the outcome didn't justify the prep time. Maybe I will try a different recipe in the future if I ever decide to do that again.
I worked on my truck yesterday to repair a noisy fan blower motor. Turns out it is a common problem with older F150 pickup trucks. Seems there is a part up behind the dash that breaks off and falls down into the fan, which causes the noise. It was a royal pain to remove the fan and get the broken piece out. Unfortunately, to get to the part behind the dash to replace the broken part would require removing the dash - that would be around $2000 with parts and labor. But everything works fine without having to do that, other than the AC maybe not being quite as efficient. Certainly not worth it to me to do that. I did get the fan motor in and out though, so it is quiet again.
A bit warmer here today by about 20 degrees F, which of course means rain is likely today.
Here are probably the last of the snapshots from the trip. A couple of "nature" photos, which I am more comfortable with, and a couple where I was again playing with selective color.
I have many more but they are mostly street shots and old buildings.
Well, still having issues with the DS's car. I think now it may have a parasitic draw. Bottom line is, when we get it corrected, I'm going to trade it for something else. He's had nothing but trouble with that car.
There were lots of beautiful buildings in Europe, but some amusing ones as well. This one caught my eye - I classify these types of images as snapshots or travel photos.
Looks like there was no challenge in November, so let's see if we can get something going for December. Night Lights - anything goes, color, B&W, reflection, whatever.
