Happy Thanksgiving to all those celebrating today!!

Dave, you get the most beautiful skies! Mine are so boring compared to yours. Nice!
Lorell, I wonder if anyone who does NOT put on a big dinner realizes just how much work goes into it all? I'm like you, day of cleaning/shopping. Day of baking/cooking what I can do day ahead. Turkey ready to go in the oven now. I can't wait to see your cannoli.....wow....that's quite the adventure! Your staircase is amazing! Great perspective.  Love it!  It has a lot of interest going on there!!
Hi, Peter. That's an interesting behive.....my brother has one in one of his black walnut trees....my other brother is trying to get them to move to a regular hive so the honey could later be harvested! Your first mushroom is very nice. As Lorell said, one of your best...you set that shot up just right! Your second one i also a good shot.
Hi, Rich! Are you chug a lugging already?  If I did, nothing would get to the table!!  Your rock formation and subsequent manip are very interesting. Your manip looked like something from Japan, for some reason (No, I have never been to Japan, but still....) Well done.

Good day, Foto Friends

Sorry I've been MIA recently. A few times a year I might get early symptoms of a cold, but it rarely goes beyond that. But about a week ago I got caught in a cold and windblown rain, and now I have a full-blown cold - the first in several years.

So no new photos from me for a while. For today, here's a neighborhood sunrise shot in Feb 2017...

I hope all of you are happy and healthy, and I wish a happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate that holiday.

Hello all and welcome to the weekend.
Well, now that my club meeting is over, I can focus on my next challenge, Thanksgiving dinner.
Unfortunately, we are down to only 7 people this year because a few will be going over the in-laws.
I still have a 17# turkey to bake with all the fixings .  Yum.  I have not made a turkey in the last year,\; looking forward to the stuffing and sweet potato casserole.

For our club meeting, the special assignment for the month was MANY OF ONE OF THE SAME THING.  This was a bit of a challenge to try to find something interesting to fill this topic.  I took this shot the morning before the meeting as I was exiting the gym.  It filled the bill nicely I thought.

Have a great start to your weekend and let the holidays begin.
Lorell

PS.  If you go back to Tuesday's thread, especially Rich and Natalie, I left another comment about the Deep Dream Manipulations, especially regarding Image #3 (the manip of the small mausoleum) .  You might find it interesting.

PPS. Left some comments on yesterday's thread. Sorry that I came late to yesterday's great photo gallery.

Good morning all - TGIF. I think this is the first morning that it has been below freezing this season, but right now it is 31 F here at the house.

DW got home yesterday after spending almost a week with the grand babies and of course came home with a terrible cold. It always takes here a long time to get over something like that and while I has happy to have her home, I hate that she is sick. Hopefully she will feel better by Thanksgiving as we are supposed to go back to DD's house for that.

Got some fairly good news yesterday - the results of the Smokies weekend photo competition were announced. I got a second place in Macro (same photo that I started to monthly challenge with), a third place in wildlife (I think this is the first time I have ever placed in the wildlife category) and an honorable mention, also in wildlife.

Third place Wildlife- Buckeye Butterfly
Hon mention Wildlife - Red Bellied Woodpecker
Second place Macro - Natures Silk

This is the first time in a number of years that I have won anything on the Smokies weekend, so I felt good about that.

I don't often see bluebirds here. Most of our Western Bluebirds live at higher elevations...

Good Morning,
Off to my Water Aerobics class.  I just started on Monday after joining LA FITNESS for free.  I guess being a Senior has its perks.

Here is a photo for tomorrow's local photo club meeting.
The special assignment this week was  Many of One Thing (four or more)
These cute sandpipers should do nicely.

Since I woke up at 2:00 am (AGAIN! GRRRR!) I might as well be useful by starting thhe Daily.

A few days ago the morning was cold and the sky clear except for one cloud. But it was an impressive cloud...

Good day to you all.

Once again going back to January 2017 (but reprocessed just two days ago), here's a front yard photo of Alyssium showing blossoms of two different colors on the same plant...

I'm wishing a good week to all.

Good  Morning All,

Yesterday my daughter and I went to a quilt Expo.  We did not buy much but it was fun looking.
At least it inspired me to come home and get working on a quilt that I have been putting together for WAY TO LONG. I shall continue to work on it again today.  It is a rather overcast chilly morning.  A perfect day for staying inside and doing crafty things.  But first I shall put together some GRAPE LEAVES and slow-cook them on the stove.  They should be ready by game time Lions vs. DA BEARS!  The Lions have had such bad season, but it has been fun to watch them TRY TO WIN this year.

Here are a few photos that was much more ornate than the church we visited on Wednesday  This hallway connected the church offices to the main church and the morning light added so much drama to these three photos.  I will be using one or two for our club meeting this Thursday and as before, I wonder which would you suggest that I submit.

1) View from the floor
2) Star Burst on the LEFT
3) Star Burst on the RIGHT

Thank you and have a Blessed Sunday,
LORELL
