Wide awake again at 01:45 - not by choice.

So I'll start us a Daily with two versions of an image I've titled "Employee Lounge"...

I prefer the color version over the slightly sepia one. What do you all think?

Occasionally I take photos that are not of the kind called nature photography. Often these are of buildings and I tend to favor shots from behind the businesses or in alleys that strike me as being rather gritty and/or dramatic due to high contrast.

Here's one such, taken yesterday morning, behind a sushi restaurant...

Good Monday Morning All,
Time to start another week of SPING.  Finally, the trees are starting to show buds and the leaves should start breaking through soon.  Yippee.
I spend the morning with some members of the photo club taking pics at the Michigan Orchid Society.   There were only four of us who attended.
I gave them a challenge sheet and one of the categories was BLACK and WHITE.
Here is my B&W that I chose to share with them on the club's website:

Have a good start to your week,
LORELL

Well, we got rain, sleet, and blowing snow yesterday for our end of March weather. Beautiful day today and going to hit 40 degrees soon. Ice is all melted off the roads thanks to a bright sun with some power.

Here is a selfie.

It is simply because I wake up earlier than you each day.

I have a Flickr set/album, only about 'fallen things'. I'm always interested about what happens on the forest floor. Particularly if it is in my own self planted forest. These are new additions to that album.

Happy Hump Day everyone.

Rain here overnight and still raining; should clear up in a few hours then start again around 9:00 PM and continue through late morning tomorrow. I got a bit soaked on my morning walk today.

I like the soft greens and sharp whites in this photo. And the yellow is lovely. But realizing that the yellow may steal attention from my intended COI, I did a version that de-saturated the yellow shape.

1) full intensity yellow version...

2) de-saturated yellow version...

Out with the old. In with the new.
Along with almost 20 feet of use-able counter space. two storage towers with 2 Bamboo floating shelves suspended between the towers will finish off the dining room.

Old tired Dusty Rose counter

New Bamboo counter

I figured I might as well be useful and start us a Monday daily before I try for a few hours of sleep.

It's poppy season here. We didn't plant these orange beauties, and they return year after year. They sure are vibrant and sometimes it's a challenge to control that.

This is the sidewalk in front of our house, with our outer front yard on the right and the narrow parkway area (between the sidewalk and the street) on the left. Also visible are white Alyssium flowers, a succulent, and some unidentified yellow blossoms.

Greetings all! Wishing you all a great weekend!

I am heading out west 230 miles to my daughters on Monday for a Tuesday appointment to set up a hip replacement surgery. I hope it can be done soon. Getting tired of limping and pain.

Here is a photo I took when in Calgary, Canada for the stampede many years ago. A little vertigo going on here!
