Good morning to all. Nothing new here, just checking in. As usual, little activity.

Good morning all.

I spent about 2 hours this morning researching why new post notifications is not working. I finally nailed it down to some settings in the forum configuration so I had to try many different combinations of things, and apparently one of them worked because I did get ONE notification of a new post. I'm hoping I did not change that before realizing it was working, but we will see. If I don't get a notification for this post, it is back to the drawing board.

The last blossoms from an arrangement of poppies my wife bought for $5.00 at the grocers weeks ago; photographed yesterday and just now processed...

Prickly Pear Cactus, taken at the Bolsa Chica Wetlands Ecological Preserve 9 days ago...

Neither of these required much processing: mostly cropping for composition and modest sharpening in some places.

Have yourselves a good day or night.

Sorry I've been AWOL for so long.

My internet access provider's equipment failed on April  6 and they finally got around to sending out a tech this morning. Got connected again about an hour ago.

Here's a shot of the nearly fully developed nestlings, taken April 10. The next day they left the nest for good. My wife insists that they are still hanging around the front yard.

I hope all of you (all 4 or 5) are doing well

Yesterday's outing to the wetlands offered few opportunities for shots of the fauna, but as the footpath rose gently we were treated to a true "Golden Hour" moment, with the sun bathing these daisy-like blossoms (they continued on for at least 60 meters and also climbed about 25% up a very steep hill that was at least 20 meters high) in the rich golden morning light.

Good morning to all. I trust everyone has been doing OK.

DW and I took a few days and checked off an item on my bucket list, or at least something I have been wanting to do for a while. We drove over to Natchez, Mississippi, and then traveled the length of the Natchez Trace Parkway all the way to Nashville. Lots of history along the Trace and it was an enjoyable trip. The only downer was very bad weather in Nashville the night we spent there, and lots of flooding. We managed to escape but had an interesting drive getting from the hotel over to the Interstate highway. All worked out in the end though.

A couple of photos from the trip. We took a little time in Tupelo, MS to stop by and see the house where Elvis was born but didn't do the museum visit.  Next shot is an old tobacco barn along the Trace, with a little Topaz magic to make it look like an infrared shot. And finally some nice fungi to top it off.

About 8 or 9 days ago I realized that I hadn't seen the Mama hummingbird hard on the nest she built near our front door and I was concerned that something bad had happened. But a few days later I spotted her feeding the 2 nestlings.

The nest is so high up and deep in the shadows that I doubt I'll get any good shots of the nestlings, and this photo (raken 2025/04/01) may be the best I can get. If you look closely you'll see the 2 tiny bills...

I wish us all a good day

Good Monday Morning,
Welcome to the new week and end of the month.
I was wondering what you had planned for tomorrow, April Fools day.
I got to put my thinking cap on and see if I can come up with something .

But for today's Macro Monday challenge in Flickr, the topic being GAME PIECES, I took this photo just moments ago and posted it.
Does anyone like the game Backgammon?

Have a great Monday,
LORELL
