Good morning to anyone who shows up today. It was a rainy (and windy) night in Georgia last night. Looks like we got at least 1 inch of rain, maybe more. I will be checking the rain gauge at 0700 to get an "official" reading. Right now it is at the warmest temp of the day and will fall a bit as the rain clears and the front moves through. Might still get some showers this afternoon though. More seasonal weather.

From my box of old negatives - a sort of musical still life from the late 60's. Cheap guitars, a variety of vinyl and some Southern Comfort to round it out.

Good morning all. I hope that none of you are getting really hammered by the weather this morning. I believe that we are just
south enough to miss most of it, other than some cold temps. DW is out of town, heading to Hilton Head this morning with DD for
a gymnastics match with our granddaughter. Hopefully they will not be returning Monday to some nasty weather either.

I've been enjoying the posts over the past few days, few that they are. That last image that you posted Grant is interesting.
Almost look like a bas relief or similar. Must have taken a lot of time. Lorell, that was quite a creative shot you posted as
well. Thanks for the description on how it was done. Perfect lighting for your pink rose Dave. I could go on, but enought said.

I enjoyed them all and even though I wasn't posting much in the past few days, I check in regularly to see how things are going.
Really haven't been doing any photography to speak of lately.  BUT, day before yesterday I received a pinhole camera that I had
ordered back around the first part of November. It had apparently gotten lost somewhere along the line (it came from somewhere near
Belorus) and I purchased it on Etsy. Really nice work, 4x5 format. I took it out yesterday along with 6 loaded sheets of Ilford
HP+ film and did some test shots. I am happy with the results.

A couple of my favorite little stone "bridge".

A couple shots of the river rapids.

More water, different location. I didn't notice the shadow when I took the shot.

Depth of field is awesome with a pinhole camera. The pinhole is 0.3mm which gives an f stop of 260. Requires some calculations to determine
the shutter speed and account for reciprocity failure, but it is fun (and different) to play with.

Morning Everyone,

More clouds from my Wet Coast collection. Cowichan Bay BC [on Vancouver Island]

Another commercial client made simple high end furniture from reclaimed lumber. In this case a bench for a specific space.

Morning Sleepy heads,

I shot this as a commercial shoot for a campaign. It was fun to work with a couple of dancers.
I had no political affiliation. It was merely a paying gig. More fun than weddings.

We have been on line for about 3 1/2 months. Here are a few numbers about our current member activity. We seem to have 7 members who post regularly and another couple that post occasionally. I just thought it would be interesting to look at the activity.

Some photos are hard to look at. Our youngest needed life saving heart surgery. He is almost 40 now but we almost lost him at 18 months. Somehow he knew.

Another easier to look at.  Still boxes and boxes.

Good day, everyone.

Yesterday morning mother nature brought out her most vivid colors and treated us here to a glorious sunrise. I was fortunate to notice in, and stepped outside with the camera; all shots were a bit noisy, but I managed some keepers. I'll post one now, and more over the next couple of days.

This one is looking almost due east from the street in front of my house...

Good day, Foto Friends, and welcome to OSIM.

An early morning shot in my neighborhood; the dark cloud about 1/3 from the bottom struck me as a bit unusual.

Good Sunday Morning To You All.
I pulled this photo from our club's photo trip to the churches in Downtown Detroit.
This was the first photo I took inside of the church that day.
Have a wonderful day.

Good Morning and Welcome to the Weekend.
I worked on another Photo Challenge for Flickr which ended up being a really difficult challenge for me.

Topic:  Black on Black.
I tried several methods to get an acceptable image that I felt comfortable to share using suggestions that the Challenge site provided, but I kept striking out.  Finally last night I used a variation of LIGHT PAINTING to capture the LIONEL Toy Train Engine.  For this black on black image, I used the LIVE COMPOSITE Time Esposure setting on my Olympus camera.  The Model train engine was set on black velvet and I moved a white board around the toy engine while shining a small flash light on the white board.  This is all reflective light creating the highlights of the details on the toy train engine.  The Live Comp allows you to watch the light build up and when you are satisfied with the effect, you press the shutter again.  No light was direct shined on the engine.

Hope you have a wonderful start to your weekend.
LORELL
PS. Grant, Patty and Rich, please see comments I left at the bottom of Friday's daily.

Lionel Model Trains, Thanks for the Memories
