Good morning everyone. I remembered to change clocks last night! Did you (for those that have DST)?
Cold here this morning, right now at 27F. I put an electric heater in the camping trailer and poured antifreeze in the drains. I had already blown out the water lines with air. Hope this is the last really cold snap for us. In a few weeks I will need to sanitize the fresh water system and probably grease the wheel bearings in preparation for our trip in May to Ohio. The state park where we are staying has electricity but not water so we will use the on board water for showers. We will use bottled water to drink and cook with though.
Yesterday was our 51st wedding anniversary - but after the "big one" last year this one was very low key. We figured we celebrated last week with several really good anniversary meals while in Florida. Lots of good seafood and even went to a Greek restaurant one night. So last night we had BLTs for dinner.
Here are a couple of colorful shots from last week. I developed 4 sheets of 4x5 yesterday taken with the pinhole camera. Had some issues with the developing tank though and one sheet did not get developed well. I will post later,
Good afternoon all - so no one has started the daily so it might be a day of little participation. Busy weekend I guess.
Got back home yesterday, spent some time last night catching up with the weeks posts. Some very nice images from last week, well done to all. I started out with over 600 photos and by the time I got through deleting out of focus, dupes, etc I was left with 265. I have only processed about 40 of those and the remainder are "iffy" at best. Not really happy with what I got.
There was a guy in a boat casting a net and bringing up pretty good hauls. I got this just as the net had opened and hit the water. I thought it looked interesting. I have quite a few bird photos that I will share as time goes on, as well as a few other subjects.
Natalie, the portraits of your nephew are top-notch perfect. I can see why they were so pleased. If you wanted to subsidize your retirement, you could easily get a job as a portrait photographer. All these shots in yesterday's thread and of your nephew in the challenge thread are fun and natural looking. Much better than the studio shots.
Also, your comments Natalie about dining on crabs reminded me of this photo that I took last month of a soft shell crab sandwich. Yum.
Grant, sounds like you like soft shell crabs too! When this meal was delivered to my table, the people who I was sitting with asked me how was I going to eat it. They were surprised that you eat the shell and all.
Have a good one all,
LORELL
PS. I got to add that the cell phone really comes in handy when doing overhead shots like this one. Before when I wanted to do this at a restaurant, people looked at me strangely when I pulled out my DSLR camera, pulled out the chair and stood on it, and bent over the meal to grab the shot....JUST KIDDING, but being only 5'1" tall, it is tough to get a good overhead shot.
Last year I took some senior portraits of my grand-nephew. Since I don't have any recent shots, I hope it's okay to post these. He was home schooled. Soon after graduation he joined the army.....
Hi Everyone!
I hope you all are doing great.
I'm still around; I finished quilting a small quilt
last Thursday/Friday and am putting together one that I had already cut out the pieces,
and some kitchen upgrade work.
It was a busy weekend so I didn't get any new photos.
I think I have some of the small quilt I finished and will come back later to post.
(I hope!)
