Good morning. Another chilly morning but some sun peaking through. I shot this mostly clouded sky yesterday afternoon while grilling some steaks for dinner.
Rich put a comment on my Flickr site regarding an image that I submitted at our camera club meeting this past week. It reminded me that I had done a brief writeup for the folks on using sky photographs to enhance bland areas of images. I thought that I should perhaps put the stuff here in case someone is interested.
First - the image (after the improvement).
Attached below is the writeup. (I hope this works?)
I already did both of my Sunday fun things, bake and create an abstract image.
I baked some doggie biscuits for Ella. She is now following me around the house no matter where I go. They have peanut butter in them and she seems to like them very much.
Then afterward, I worked on a photo of a metal sculpture that I saw in a cool store in Florida.
When I get done here, I will continue working on my Zentangle Easter card that I began late last evening. I get so much pleasure from all three.
I hope you are having a wonderful day.
I found my husband all choked up today as he was sitting at the kitchen table and drinking his morning coffee. I asked him what was wrong and he told me that he is just lucky and needed a hug. "Huh?", I said, "you are getting teary-eyed because you are lucky?". And he explained that today marks 50 years since his return from Vietnam and discharge from the Army. And then I understood. He was certainly blessed.
Yesterday was as crazy hot here as the previous day, but today will be much cooler. Good news, because I'm far below my average daily steps/distance.
Looking through my archives, I rediscovered one of my earliest (maybe 20 years ago) moderately successful photos from the local wetlands. This shot of a Brown Pelican has many faults (both my equipment and skill back then were just mediocre), but this photo is one of the 2 or 3 that got me hooked on photography.
Tonight I worked on another LIGHT PAINTING PHOTO PROJECT.
I mentioned yesterday, that my friend gave me a special gift when she saw me on Wednesday. It was a carton of eggs. You may think that this is an unusual gift to give someone but her daughter and her daughter's boyfriend has some chickens and that they are now laying eggs. The boyfriend lives north of the big cities around here and has some land where he has a chicken coup and a fenced-in area for the chickens to roam. So, when I opened the gift and saw the egg carton, I was pleasantly surprised to see that she gave me some TRUE FREE RANGE CHICKEN EGGS.
However, I wish you could have seen the look on my face when I opened the carton. The eggs appeared that they were dyed in pastel colors but that was not the case. All of these beautifully colored eggs are exactly the natural colors of the eggs. Later when I showed my DH, he didn't believe it. We are familiar with brown eggs, but not pink, pale yellow or teal.
So, see why I was so excited to photograph them?
I am going to feel bad when I decide to cook them, but I bet they will taste really good.
Have a good start to your weekend and I hope it turns out EGGACTLY as you have it planned.
I hope to organize my workroom, it needs its spring cleaning and then I hope to work on some light painting tonight after dark. My friend gave me a present yesterday and the first thing I thought of was, "I can't wait to take pictures of this". I won't tell you what it is but will hopefully have something that I can share with you at a later date. And it might be a while before I get around to finishing the idea that I have.
But for now, I hope you will enjoy this one.

Poppies magically appear in many yards in my neighborhood; this one sprouted between pine cones I had gathered and placed in the parkway area (between the sidewalk and the street) in front of my house...
Good morning all - looks to be a rainy day here in Georgia. The rain started a few minutes ago and will probably last all day, with a few T-storms to boot. After that, cooler weather. Thankfully it isn't supposed to get down to freezing temps though.
I have finished my Travel Binder, where I print out all the receipts, maps, pertinent information for longer camping trips, and store them in a 3 ring binder. When we arrive at a campground, I have all the reservation information handy if needed. Also has the campsite number in case there is no one at the office, which is often the case, so we just go on and set up. Eventually a ranger will come around to check.
I thought I would post a few more B&W pics of the covered bridge. Not much processing done on these, just for getting an idea of the construction.
Is anyone else having this problem...Every time I go to write or type 2022, I find myself typing 2023 instead. I wonder why that is.
Well, anyway. Here's to a good week.
Major league baseball starts this week, hurray!
Have a good day all.
