Morning, Don. I was wondering where you have been lately as I have not seen you in the dailies the last few days. I like the sepia colors applied to your well composed photograph and how it brings out the nice light coming from the sky.

Your artistic rendition of the covered bridge reminds me that it is Sunday and the day that I either get out of bed and bake something up in the kitchen or create something wild using my photo filters. What will it be today? You will have to wait and see.

Have a good Sunday and blessings to all.
Lorell

Morning Folks,
Don when you say filters was that in camera or post for sepia.
I thought I saw some similar images yesterday from you then they disappeared, or did I imagine it?

At any rate I like the treatment.

Today woke up to fog and below freezing. However, it will warm up to 50°F by mid afternoon.

"I was wondering where you have been lately as I have not seen you in the dailies the last few days."

I usually pop in a few times a day just to make sure all is OK but often don't post.

"I thought I saw some similar images yesterday from you then they disappeared, or did I imagine it?"

Nope you didn't imagine it, I had posted an image but I deleted it.

"when you say filters was that in camera or post for sepia."

All that was done in post processing. Shot on 120 film with a Mamiya 645 Pro, so nothing in camera. I cloned out the posts that blocked access to the bridge for autos, a sign, and also the "new" road to the right. Then added a bit of sepia and a "frame".  Mostly just playing.

Grant, don't feel bad, we are struggling with our temps here in Michigan.  I am tired of waiting for spring blooms to emerge. On the other hand, your frosted limbs make for a delightful image.

Sorry that it took me so long to return with my creation as promised.  I actually got both culinary and artistic desires fulfilled today.  After starting out with a photo I took at the Ford Museum, I took breaks to change beds, vacuum, and do laundry.  I returned to the computer and moved my museum image over to my Affinity software program.  But since the afternoon started speeding by, I relocated to the kitchen to make some Pasties for my boys, husband and son.  My son has the flu of some kind, all achy and feverish.  He took a Covid test and it came back negative, but he feels totally horrible.  Yesterday I made him some kitchen soup and by 4 pm today, I left 2 fat and juicy Pasties on his doorstep.

After all of that, it was back to my photo creation.
First the original.  One thing I really like about the Henry Ford Museum is that they frequently put related backdrops behind the items that they are spotlighting, like this one.  So, I composed my photo to make sure their background filled my background in my camera.  To make it look more realistic, I selected the car to a separate layer, blurred the background, and then put the car back into the composition.  I may use this for "show and tell" at a club meeting but feel that I need to try to make it better.  The background in the distance should not be so blurry.  If I do attempt to make the background look realistic, I will use photoshop since they have a blur called Path Blut which blurs along a path way.

But for now, as promised:

Don, I really like the tones in your covered bridge shot! Nice!!

Grant, you have an obsession with cold and ice!! What a shot of that icy tree!! But I sure hope spring comes to you, soon!!

Hi, Lorell!! I like your shot of the car...love the perspective. The car really "POPS" from that backdrop. I think you are right, the blur is a bit much ....Looking forward to your Path Blur attempt!
