TGIF everyone.

This morning I reprocessed a very old image; the original photo was taken more than 20 years ago from the Bolsa Chica Wetlands and across PCH towards the setting sun. Then I decided to simulate a painting in oils or acrylics.

Today's reprocessing involved a new crop and tweaking the values to bring a hint of detail into the darks.

I wish all a pleasant, safe, and productive weekend.

Greetings all from cool and windy South Dakota!

Here comes the sun! A statue I am assuming that celebrates the sunrise! In Albuquerque, NM.

Good day folks.

Here's a type of poppy, commonly called The Fried Flower, taken back n 2005 (or earlier)...

Later today I'll be having cataract surgery. Gotta admit that having someone slice into my eye is a bit unsettling. Once this first eye has healed I'll schedule the same thing for the other eye.

Greetings all. Something a little different today. The photo shows a hitching post and a large rock from the late 1800's. This is located a block from the Corn Palace, AKA Main street. The first Palace was built in 1892. The rock was there to keep the ladies shoes and long dresses away from the muddy streets and also ease of exit from a carriage. I believe if memory serves me right that the house and garage were part of a livery stable close to the Palace. Will check with the historian at the Historical Society for sure. Will post a photo if that is true. In case you are interested in western history I am the Webmaster of our Historical Society. Here is a link.  https://www.mitchellcarnegie.com/ We have a Back In Time page that shows many photos of our town and others nearby.

Hello all.

Today is our 54th wedding anniversary. More than anything else, that's a testament to my wife's abundance of patience and forgiveness.

This sunrise shot (two different crops) was taken yesterday morning. I liked the sense of power in the blue-gray clouds, threatening  nasty weather, but it turned out to be quite a pleasant day.

I couldn't resist adding some orange near the horizon.

Greetings all! Finally getting some spring temps. Didn't get downtown as planned last night for 1st Friday on Main. Maybe next month. Here is a photo from a trip to the east coast many years ago. This in Plymouth, Mass, a replica of the Mayflower. I did get on it for a tour and was amazed how small it was and there were 102 passenger's and 30 crew. Amazing! Here is a link to Wikipedia  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mayflower
