Hello there and how are you doing today?
Wow, what a difference a week makes.  One week ago 11 members of our photo club were in Port Huron with skies like this and today it is overcast, cold and with mist coming from above.  Sure glad that we got as lucky as we did so we could get images like this.
I tell you, living here in this area, there are so many opportunities for taking photographs, and thanks to my photo club, they make it possible for me to capture moments like this.

Here is one of several freighters travelling down the St. Clair River about to go under the Blue Water Bridge that connects us to Canada.

I am not bragging, but this looks really good on my screen as a background on my desktop.

This is one of many Wagenborg Shipping vessels from one fo the leading shipping companies in the world.  The current position of FIVELBORG is reported 6 hours ago by AIS. The vessel is en route to the port of Torre Annunziata, Italy, sailing at a speed of 9.6 knots and expected to arrive there on Jun 5, 12:00. The vessel FIVELBORG (IMO: 9419307, MMSI 245466000) is a General Cargo Ship built in 2010 (13 years old) and currently sailing under the flag of Netherlands. It left Montreal Canada yesterday at 11:30 pm.

Beautiful, Lorell. I can see why you like it - so do I.

I'll echo your comment about living in an area with many opportunities for good photos. While my available subjects may be different than yours, there are so many that it's easy to find good scenes & subjects for photos. For me the challenge is to not screw them up.

Here's an example of one (taken two mornings ago) that turned out pretty good: a small and pretty rose against a soft background...

Looking at it now, I wish I had desaturated the soft reddish area above the flower. I find it mildly distracting.

Wishing all of us a good weekend.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Weekend Greetings!
Lorell, a beautifully exposed and colorful photo! What a great day for you. Ship information very interesting! Wow, 9.6 knots is a slow boat to China....er Italy!

Now of course from your last post yesterday, you realize you have thrown down the gauntlet! No pressure!

Edit: Good looking rose Dave, love the pastel color palette. Agree with the BG red.

Here is Tugboat Annie under the Atlantic Bridge, the Atlantic entrance to the Panama Canal.

Can you please tell me if the right end of the ship is cut off on your screen? It is on my iPad, but NOT on the image that I actually posted. Bummer.

Oh my,, Rich, nice lighting on that suspension bridge. And look at that cute little tug. Those bridge structures are quite the engineering creation. Wouldn’t you agree?

You have some great sky in your composition and that is before sky replacement was available.

Dave, I do not mind the red in the BG. I like how delicate the rose is and shade of green in the BG.

Still nursing a broken humerus and it isn't funny.
The ship appears too be past the bridge and going away from it or is it going under the bridge backwards?
Wink Sorry if that sounds like criticism.but it is just an observation.
Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.

Thanks Rich. Impressive photo of tugboat and bridge; tug looks to me to be going right to left, based on the hint of wake at right edge.

Lorell, I see the entire ship of my largish monitor.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Thanks Dave! You have the direction right.

Lorell, your ship image is cut off on the right on my monitor. I pulled it into PS and it is all there. I checked the width and it is 13.9 inches. I have found that to be to wide for my images. I usually make them 12 or less. Usually 11 inches wide.
Thanks for the comment. Yes, the suspension bridges are amazing!
