Hello and Happy Sunday Blessing to All,
Time to wrap up the vacation as we wrap up the month.
This photo is probably my favorite from this as I see that the total number of images I took this last month is about half as much as I took last year.  I still have a few in the camera that I have to upload, but I don't think I got anything better than this.
Hope you are having a relaxing Sunday and enjoying the remainder of your weekend.

Hi Lorell!
Wow what a beautiful photo of the Anhinga!
Outstanding!
DO have a safe trip back home too! Thanks for starting todays Daily.

Yesterday, we went and looked at a 23 acre piece of rural land up in Franklin County, GA.
There were some old cars back in the woods.
Makes me think of moonshiners...(there's a 40's vintage back there too)

Great photo, Lorell. Although I've never seen an Anhinga, I recognized it right away from my interest in biology and from various bird books.

Safe travels back home.

damar, are you thinking of buying those 23 acres? And do the old cars come with the land?

Another of the same kind of succulent flowers I posted yesterday...

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Lorell, Blessings to you and your family too!
What a beautiful bird and capture! Lighting is exquisite! Nothing like that around here!

Patty, glad you are getting something to post, I (we) missed you! Definitely a moonshine car. Looks it might be a 1951 Ford, black maybe.

Dave another excellent capture. Question, do you go on manual to do a selective blur or do you shoot on auto? Whatever you do it works!

It is 46 F here today, going for 49. Melting our nuisance snow we got a couple of days ago.
Focus on what brings you joy! ~Unknown~

Thanks Rich.

To answer your question: Yes I shoot in manual but not to control blurring. Since I seldom shoot in the middle third of the day (and when I do, I'm usually zoomed in to something with a medium to dark background), my first thought is to select a shutter speed fast enough to minimize softness due to camera shake but slow enough for adequate light onto the sensor. Then I check what the camera has chosen for aperture, and I typically adjust lower. This usually results in a nicely blurred background. In processing, I almost never apply a blur, and I usually apply a selective USM to the COI.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Dave, you capture some beautiful color and soft backgrounds! I always like your crops.
Yes, those cars would probably go with the property, along with the rotted out 1950 house and all the out buildings, which sat for years and we’re totally trashed by most likely squatters. I took photos but it was disgusting; clean up would require and bulldozer, front end loader and sever roll off dumpsters to haul it away. Most of the land was behind this mess and not fouled.

Hi Rich, thank you for your kind thoughts! I am trying to get back into my camera routine, but winter is not a great time for landscapes. It’s just blah.
So I get into other stuff and keep my varied interests on a rotation!
We are getting things done around the house too.
Haven’t done much sketching either but hope to do some ink line of my old canner and a few jars!
Well, here comes another new week!
