Good day.

A shot taken 2026-04-14 showing another of Ron's roses that is trying to make a comeback...

Not a great photo, but the composition seems OK and the colors are nice.

I wish you all a happy and productive day today.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Thank you Rich.

I got lucky with the photo out of the camera: it was breezy and I was shooting handheld and didn't expect any photos to be very sharp; and I got lazy and went wit h my default camera settings rnstead of adjusting them for the light and scene. But somehow things turned out better than I thought they would.

Love that photo, MFI.

"The more I practice the luckier I get." is a famous quote attributed to Hall of Fame golfer Gary Player.

IMO Mr. player's stellar record is even more impressive for three reasons:

1) He had to travel so many thousands of miles each year from his home in South Africa.
2) His small stature, for which he compensated through regular and rigorous physical workouts.
3) He regularly received death threats due to South Africa's apartheid policy (even though his long-time caddie was a black man) and had to have a security team when he played in tournaments.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Peter, that's a scary bird! Well done!

Dave, Yes, until you posted I couldn't remember where that quote came from. He was a great player and a champion for sure in many ways! Thanks!

The frogmouths (Podargidae) are a group of nocturnal birds related to owlet-nightjars, swifts, and hummingbirds. Species in the group are distributed in the Indomalayan and Australasian realms.
