Rich, great photo that I'm sure brings back nice memories.

Hi Lorell. The name Sunoco brings back memories of Michigan. Nice photo, intriguing lights and darks. It looks you returned home just in time for heavy snowfall.

Michael, that's a quintessential urban subject. And I like the warehouse photo too.

I agree with those who mentioned that the color version of my floral is more interesting. Thanks to all who commented.

After all the rain in February we have weeds (dandelions and other unwanted invaders) up to 3.5 feet (1.07 meters) high in some areas of the front yard. I'm digging them up as quickly as my back allows. On the positive side these uninvited guests do attract butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds. I took this photo Friday morning and processed it yesterday...

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

I thought I'd attempt to clear up the issue about dandelions.

And talk a little about how useful they are.  Because only one video per post, here's another post.

Yeah yeah. I know I'm bothersome. People have wasted their whole lives trying to kill nature off. Yet today, I hear that more than 100 countries want to protect just 30% of our worlds oceans. Only because almost all life is disappearing. The biodiversity which makes our lives rich, is disappearing before our eyes.
I've only spent my entire life studying and preaching about life itself and how it is all interlinked. Now I hear that the world has struggled for many decades to eventually decide that 30% of the majority of the source of life itself should be protected.

Piffle. It is way short of enough for our survival.
By the way, I really have very little faith in humankind remaining. I don't actually believe that we will be able to police the preservation of a mere 30% of the life in our oceans.

We are marching to our doom, unsuspecting of who the real criminals are.

Stop hurting your back pulling dandelions. Sit back and enjoy the benefits of a healthy ecosystem.

Allow nature to do its work.
If you like, you can sing, That's the way, God planned it.

A third post. Why 30%? and will it be enough?
I don't want to be a naysayer or overly pessimistic but it does pose some difficulty to be positive in the face of our own history on this planet.

Peter,
Beer is probably regular pup fare. Coney Island is the name of the place, a little confusing sign.

Lorell, the restuerant is in Oklahoma, I was just visiting. Was my first time there. Coney Dogs were good.

Lorell,
Good story and well exposed highlights and shadows!

Michael,
I like the head on view, unless one is standing in the street! Good shadow detail!

Warehouse view gives a good size perspective!

Dave,
What a great view. Sharp! Excellent DOF.

Peter, interesting videos. Just viewed the first one so far.

Yes, I loved all the B&W. I simply didn't have any to post.
Dave's dandelion and bee inspired me to rant. Sorry about that. Great image Dave. Here are some more things to do with dandelion flowers.
I won't be able to wash this window for months. Because I do cherish the nature that happens in my yard.

Michael, you should send the trolley car photo to a publishing house.  It would make a great cover for a mystery novel.
The Wharehouse photo has promise too for the back cover.
Peter, you can rant whenever you need to. Love you scary spider image.
Dave , great close up of the bee shot as well as a pleasing composition.
This was a good weekend thread.

I already think far more than I should of myself. Thank you so much!

Thanks for the comments on my bee photo, Rich, MFI, and Lorell.

MFI, if I don't cut down the dandelions, some overzealous city employee with too much time on his hands will declare my yard an eyesore and order me to remove them.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
