Good morning Michael. I have really been enjoying your BW images. Another nice one, kind of moody.
I took this one early one morning in Laredo, Texas, just before everyone loaded into the vans for various field trips in the area.

I like it, Michael. Great control of the values (obviously a must in a B&W), and as Don noted, very moody.
Don, also very nice image. I didn't have any grayscale images on hand, so I quickly converted a color shot I had just processed to a rather high-intensity B&W... And here's the color version... Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him! Nikon D7500 with Nikkor 18-300 mm; PSE2021, PSCS5 Ny Flickr Albums

Michael & Don;
I love the look of wet cobble stone streets in B&W. Well done. Dave, Although your conversion is also well done, I must admit I am partial to the colour version. Thanks for sharing. I am in the middle of a home remodel.... Since we have to eat, I am posting food shots....
Good one Michael! I like the wet look to the alley on a brick road and the clouds about to burst with rain.
Don, another brick road, it really adds interest to the photo. Dave, the color version wins but well done on the conversion! Hi Grant and Peter! Here is the coney island restaurant in downtown Oklahoma City my friend went to quite often while he was still working. He loved the chilli dogs!

Sounds like a fun beer. Is it?
Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.

Rich, Wow, pretty soon the coney island will be celebrating its 100th birthday. I bet it will be a big event. Do you dine there often? Nothing like a good coney and it is all in the chili.
Michael, you started this weekender with a nice sharp and contrasty shot. I really like it. Grant is correct, it really works with the sheen from the wet pavement. The power lines really work in this composition. Dave, I like both of them and it goes to show that flowers can look good in B&W. But I think why the colored one works better is that it is such an attractive color and the flower in the background of the original invites the eye to travel about the wonderfully composed image you have here. The black-and-white one does not do that. Grant, I will mosey over to the food thread to see how you are keeping up your strength while you tear apart sections of your house. Are these projects that you are doing or do you have a remodeling company that fulfills your dreams? I cannot wait to see the before and after photos. Do you like how things are moving along? I went to Stahl's today with the camera club. I was just there in January and on my way out to the museum, I was wondering what is there left to shoot since I go about 3 times a year and it was only two months ago when I last visited. I wanted to show my support to my club and am so glad that I participated. Our club is growing and it was because of some of the photos that I had posted in our January club meeting that convinced the new members to go. We had a record-breaking ELEVEN people attend today's outing. Wow, that was so exciting. However, when I did start walking around, I only managed to take a few photos that I was excited about. Actually, most of them were repeats like the one you see below. I have taken empty lit-up Sunoco bottles many times. they are in a yellow metal stand and have a nice glowing light. It is one of my favorite memorabilia on the floor because of how it is lit up. But today, I found the SUNOCO stand in a corner. It was almost hidden from sight though still lit up. There were tons of chords next to and underneath it. It was NOT pretty. And I thought "NO ONE PUTS SU9NOCO IN A CORNER" (From Dirty Dancing Movie, "no one puts BABY in a corner"). Even when I took the shot, I did not think I would use it until I opened this thread and decided to turn it into a B&W image. So, to whoever put SUNOCO in a corner, TAKE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!
Don, I just love a good night time B&W. Dave, great conversion, however, I do have to agree the color shot is great. Rich, love how you moved the corner entrance to the left of the frame, much more exciting, and that crisp lettering...nice. oooohhhhhhhhhh...Sunoco oil bottles! Great find! perfectly captured. Trolley. Q2. Yeah, I know I am bad about following a theme.
