I love all of those cool trunks. I could see myself collecting them, if only I had a place to store them.
Here is one from an Edison museum (as in Thomas Edison) located in Port Huron, Michigan.

Here is the top of an old suitcase probably from the same era. I love the sounds when you clicked the lock shut as well as hit the button/lever to flip the metal snap open. Those springs were wound tight!
