Lorell, I agree with everything the esteemed gentleman said. That's a terrific image.
To answer your question - no, I could find no reports of a SoCal launch that would explain what I saw in the eastern sky.
Well, it's that time of year - preparing my income tax returns. We bought and I installed the right version of Turbo Tax, about half of the forms from our banks and investment companies have arrived, I've started gathering receipts for some allowed deductions and credits. I don't enjoy preparing our tax returns: it usually takes 30 to 50 hours over three weeks.
We have more rain ahead of us in SoCal. Steady rain will start early Thursday morning (a couple of hours earlier and much heavier north and northeast of me) and continue through early Friday morning. We get a break on Saturday, then another round lasting for 6 days! Depending on how heavy and steady it rains, some areas north and inland could face some serious and dangerous flooding. Fortunately for me, Huntington Beach rarely suffers damaging flooding.
I'm not sure of the track as these two systems move eastward, but some of you may be affected. So be prepared and stay safe.
Lorell, it looks like you'll be down south before this round of bad weather reaches the Midwest. But Florida may be in for rain by Feb 4 and 5.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
