Thanks Grant.
At first this morning's sunrise showed promise of being spectacular. That didn't happen but this shot interested me because I'm wondering if there was some sort of early space launch...
My thoughts on today's NFL games...
KC at Baltimore - Baltimore favored by about 4.5 points
==================================
I think it's gonna come down to two things: 1) with two of the best QBs in recent years, which one will play better; and 2) which defense is better.
KC: The offense has had a down year, especially with passing. But they have won by a good running game a a very good defense. And KC QB Mahomes has a history of performing well in key games.
Baltimore: They are very balanced - their offense is scary good and their defense is fearsome. QB Jackson (the likely MVP of the year) excels at both running and passing.
My pick:
I'm choosing KC in an upset win. Mahomes is great at avoiding sacks; his scrambling ability ex7ends plays and allows him to either run for good yardage or find an open receiver for big gains.
Detroit at San Francisco - SF favored by 7.5 points
===============================
Detroit: They have already exceeded expectations. With an excellent passing game, a good run game, and an intimidating defense, they could upset SF - I give them maybe a 40% chance of doing so. Detroit needs their strong running game to have early success against the SF run defense (ranked 25th). This will slow down the SF pass rush and allow Detroit QB Goff time to hit open receivers. But they'll need their defense to slow down one of the best offenses in the league.
SF: Both their offense and defense are among the best in the league. QB Purdy has over achieved, and running back Christian McAffrey is dangerous as both a runner and a receiver. One interesting to watch is yards after contact. The SF offense leads the league in yards gained after contact, and the Detroit defense leads in fewest yards gained after contact.
My pick:
SF should win, but I'm rooting for Detroit. If they run well, somehow slow McAffrey, and get a turnover or two they have a real chance. So again, I'm picking the underdog - Detroit to win in a close game, and advance to their first Super Bowl.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
