Lorell, thanks for your thoughts about my latest self-inflicted mishap.
That's great work!
You nailed all the individual aspects, and that made the image work.
Some of the details stand out to me:
Ideal range of values - the variety of lights and darks couldn't be better. Where darks are next to lights the contrast is well-managed, avoiding the fault of too much of being overdone that I am prone to.
The composition is good in many ways: COI is well-positioned, I admire how you bracketed the train with the darker trees and the RR XING light posts, and you have some good leading lines.
Very nice mix of soft vs sharp.
The orange overlay unifies the image, and you have subtle enough variety of colors (some more red, another more yellow) to heighten the interest.
The minor aspect of some of the thin branches being dark while others are light is a nice touch - you don't miss a thing.
Thanks Grant. My ego and confidence took more harm than my body did.
You may not be looking forwarding to the cold winter, but I sure am looking forward to seeing more of your often stark, often abstract images.
Thank you Rich. I try to make the mat color slightly neutral but sometimes it turns out too gray. And I see now that I should have made the thin frame darker.
Thank you MFI.
I wasn't aware that Oxalis makes the soil useless to other flora. I appreciate knowing that.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
