Oh those photos are grand, Rich.
It is always fun to see photos from vacations, especially of places where I have never been.
The arch is so impressive. I bet the ride up and down was thrilling. You got a great shot of the stadium and the city from that viewpoint. The angle you placed the streets at works nicely in this composition.
I am sure I told this story before, but as a math teacher, I showed a film of engineers planning the construction of the arch and then the actual assembly of it. There was a moment in the film, a brief moment, where they showed a blue print of the arch and mathematical formulas for this PARABOLA. it was so fascinating to see how they joined the two arches from each side. They had to wait for the perfect day, perfect temperature, NO WIND, and on to pull it off. I cannot imagine doing something like this. Heck, if I took a piece of paper and started drawing a line from one side and then from the other and having them be perfectly straight or perfectly arched and meet dead center, I couldn't do it. This was an amazing feat.
Thanks, Rich. It sounds like all of that walking made your hip stronger. Good for you.
Tonights is our photo shoot. I am trying to gather up things around the house to put in my white box or other set ups that we will have in the room. I got out some Christmas ornaments that might make for a good still life. I am hoping others bring lots of stuff. I have three tripods, lights, cameras, the huge white box. Geez, I need dolly just to get all of this stuff in there.
Well, a while back I talked about the street photography that we had for our club challenge last month. I never finished showing you my photos. So, here is another.
