Believe it or not, I wasn't blaming farmers. Though I was referring to farming practices. Yes, I do know that all farmers want to keep on the farm but it is also true that farms do require the use of phosphates and that price and availability mean that mostly this has been in the form of superphosphate.
Our marketing chains want produce, people need to be fed and farmers are forced to produce more. It is a complex situation and farmers are the pig in the middle.
These things have been what has brought us to this point and that most farmers are nowadays doing everything they can to save their environment. However, the problems were created and are here for the for the long run. It is a global issue which we will be dealing with for quite some time yet. Whether we are farmers or not, we as a society are causing these problems and as a whole society or as one, we need to move together on the issue of leaving an environment for our childrens childrens children.
I'm from farming stock and have made my living from farms and farmers. Have never lived in a city.

Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.
