[Rich]

Not sure what happened to the weekend post I started. I checked it yesterday and it looked like we were shut down. Will try again.

A pano of spring flowers, the Crocus.

[Quint]

A beautiful flower, Rich. Well captured.
I'm starting to think about my garden strategy now.

Nice crocus. Do you harvest the saffron?

[Dave]

Hi gentlemen.

Rich, those are lovely photos. I bet they're even more impressive larger.

I noticed the same two things:

1) that the site appeared to be down for a while, and;
2) that your weekender disappeared.

My guess is that whatever was wrong with the website was sever enough that it was necessary to do a restore from a backup that was made before you started our Weekender.

Here what I posted to the thread that disappeared:

Under the heading of "Make Something Out of Nothing" I worked on a recent photo that suffered badly from unplanned camera motion.

1) The original, unprocessed photo...

2) What I ended up with (I call it Winds of Fire)...

Super Bowl i about to start. I'm picking KC by 4.

Dave, I wouldn't call that 'suffered badly'. I would call it a lucky accident. Something to work with indeed.

If any of the readers have Facebook, here are some quite dramatic storm photos(not mine). I don't have Facebook but I do have the link.

[Dreamin]

Rich, are those crocus blooming where you are? Lovely! I have some daffodils with buds on them....my crocus seem to have died out.....maybe voles?
Interesting manip, Dave.....We played with moving the camera to take a shot way back in the past, I seem to remember.....fun project from a seemingly lost shot!

[Rich]

Thanks Quint, Peter and Dave.
Peter, I didn't even know that was where sffron came from. Not enough in my garden to bother with. Interesting storm photos!

Good save Dave, Another fire in the sky! You nailed the spread darn close!

Thanks Natalie, no a little early for flowers here. April will be about the time. This was shot many years ago. I am having a 20 x 7 inch canvas print made of it. I will hang it this spring in my condo building commons area.
