Well, we had our first Friday of the summer event yesterday. Not a good day for it with a chance of rain, cold and windy. Some of the events didn't show. The first photo shows some construction going on next to the Palace. The restaurant on the left is the Scoreboard, that name has a huge history in Mitchell. It will be moving next door to the right. This is an art deco building from the 30's -40's era that was our power companies building. Notice the building on top which is for a bar. The plan is to have outdoor dining available so you can view the Palace as you eat. The original building will be torn down and the Palace Plaza enlarged. We will see how the outdoor dining pans out. With our wind it will be a challenge. Second photo shows the view diners will get of the Palace. |
