The eclipse hasn't been very exciting here: we're far outside the path of totality, and now (about 2-1/2 hours into it) the eclipse has been rather disappointing.
Today is my daughter's birthday. She and her husband are traveling east; he partly for work and she as a vacation.
For several days I've been keeping my eye on a budding yellow rose, hoping it would blossom nicely on a day with good light. Today was that day...
I realize that the blue on the leaf may be somewhat distracting, but I think it adds to the photo's appeal so I didn't tone it down.
Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Lovely rose, Dave....it has a great shape, great color.....glad it was a perfect day to shoot it!
Hi Rich!!
We had a tiny eclipse, but I did not look at it as I had no glasses to do so.....just got a tad duller at 3:21 and then it was gone.
I did sit out in the garden for a bit.... here is a pretty blueberry blossom. Waited for a bee but none came......My blueberry bushes did not fare well over the winter....I think it was too dry. Not going to have a good crop this year and my have to replace 3 of the 19 bushes......

Don, that is about what we got here....how did you shoot those? The sun can harm your camera lens...or so I hear.
Natalie, I was fortunate enough to be able to travel up to Tennessee for the last total eclipse and still had the filters for my camera lenses. And yes, I expect trying to shoot the sun direct would destroy the sensor. These aren't the best photos, mostly just playing around. I was more serious for the total eclipse.

Great job! Glad you had those filters. Thanks for sharing your shots. I watched the total eclipse on the news station....I never heard so much screaming and hollering....people were really excited!!
