Happy Hump Day!

Taken 2 days ago; a bee gathering pollen from an Oxalis blossom...

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

That's a great close up of the bee....That yellow blossom just pops out of the picture! Dave, did you have to get down on your belly to take this one?
Saw this on a dead branch....some kind of fungus or lichen......could not id it......thought it was pretty....

Thanks Natalie. Yes I was kneeling on the sidewalk in front of a massive two-story McMansion being built on a lot that is far too small for the size of the building. The black background is a tarp attached to a rickety chain-link fence in a half-hearted attempt to hide the eyesore of the construction site.

Neat capture of the lichen or fungus.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Dave, well done! A fine showing of nature in an urban landscape! And, yes, what Natalie said is what our Camera Club called it, Wet Belly Photography!

Natalie, Another excellent nature photo. with the moss growing on the wood makes a fine spot for fungus!Dave, well done! A fine showing of nature in an urban landscape! And, yes, what Natalie said is what our Camera Club called it, Wet Belly Photography!

Nicely done with the bee shot, Dave. I've spent countless hours not getting good shots of moving things like insects. It always works better when they sit for a bit.

Natalie, looks to me like there are at least two lichens on that branch. Though I'd probably be more inclined to suggest that the brown one is a slime mould. Lovely shot of it all. Smile

I've spent a lot of time on my knees in the dew or the frost or indeed on searingly hot red sands.

Mosses, lichens and all the other interesting stuff fascinates me and my camera.

Assorted ground flora.

Slime moulds take on a lot of strange shapes. This one is called dog's vomit.

Thanks, Peter.....
What an interesting set of flora.....
That first one has a lot going on.....without shots like these, we may have just stepped on these interesting flora and gone on with our day......
The second one looks like moose antlers!
That sparkly third one is my favorite! A tiny forest that most people will never see!
I had that dog vomit in my garden last year....in my straw bales....it was interesting......LOL!
