For those tired of cold temps, here's another colorful sunrise taken about half way through my usual early morning walk on 2024/01-05)...

My football predictions for this Saturday and Sunday:

SAT 01/20/2024
Houston @ Baltimore:  I have to go with Baltimore, but Houston rookie QB Stroud has been amazing so I wouldn't be surprised if he pulls off an upset win..
Detroit @ Tampa Bay:  This game should be an even match, but I'm going with the Lions to get one more playoff win.

SUN 01/21/2024
Kansas City @ Buffalo:  Maybe KC QB Mahomes can revive the KC offense, but BUF QB Josh Allen and the Bills are hot. I pick Buffalo to win.
Green Bay at San Francisco:  Green Bay has had 2 impressive wins, but it ends against San Francisco, the best team in the league.

Next week
#2 Buffalo @ #1 Baltimore: Buffalo is the hottest team in the league, and I think they'll win a close game against Baltimore.
#3 Detroit @ #1 San Francisco: I am a long time Lions fan (born and raised in Michigan) and I applaud their great season. But they have little chance to beat the best team in the league.

Super Bowl
#2 Buffalo vs #1 San Francisco: Buffalo is scary good and certainly could upset San Francisco. But I think SF is such a balanced team (great at both offense and defense) that they will win; maybe something like 37 - 24.

Personal Note:
Few fans are neutral about Dallas; some are rabid in their devotion while others hate then. I hate them. They call themselves America's team, but I didn't get a chance to vote. And the way owner Jerry Jones treated legendary coach Tom Landry was shameful. Landry was a class act; Jones is loathsome. So I coun't have been happier when Green Bay knocked them out of the playoffs in an absolute thrashing.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Dave, Wow, sky on fire! Good presentation as usual. One small nit. I notice that you colored the inside mat cut the same color as the sky which is better than white. However, my eye keeps going back to that instead of the photo. I wonder if a black color would be better so as not to take away from the sky? Just my opinion.

Interesting  predictions!

Years ago on Wet Canvas we were playing around with scanner art. Here is one I did in 2010. Arrange your items, keeping in mind that your image will need to be arranged upside down because you are scanning from the bottom. Leave lid open for a black background and room must have no stray light. This technique will be need to done at night.

Nice warm beautiful colors fellas.  I can do color but no oranges and yellows.
Here is another Creative Color for tonight's club meeting.  I decided not to use "BLUE", the dog house photo I shared the other day.
The photo attached to this entry went through several editing software programs, and I also did some by-hand liquifying effects in Affinity.
I know you have seen this image before but not with this much rouge and makeup on it, nor has it ever had its petals frazzled like this.

Oh geez, Dave, this time I am going to hope that you are wrong.
It looks like San Francisco is a good young team that has gotten powerful since the beginning of the season.
I hope that the hometown advantage gives us more than 3 points toward a victory on Sunday.

Thanks Rich. Excellent observation about the thin orange inner mat. If I were to redo it, I'd sample a light blue-gray from the sky and try that for the inner liner.

Wonderful image of the leaves: color intensity, sharpness, and composition all get top marks.

Beautiful work, Lorell. Let us know how your entries fare.

Regarding the NFL games this weekend, today's betting lines are:
Baltimore over Houston by about 10 points - sounds right unless the HOU rookie QB continues his hot streak
San Francisco over Green Bay by about 10 points - I think SF will win by more than 10 points
Detroit over Tampa Bay by about 7 points - sounds right to me
Buffalo over Kansas City by about 3 points - unless KC QB Mahomes revives their offense, BUF should win by more than 3

Regarding a possible Detroit vs San Francisco Super Bowl, my heart is with the Lions but my brain says SF would dominate. I hope I'm wrong, because I'd really like the Lions to win it all.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

I've always loved sunrises. You've captured a beauty there Dave. Smile Do agree with Rich about the border.

Excellent tips about scanning there Rich.

Lovely work on the roses there Lorell. The result is very appealing.

Nothing new from me. We were talking about butterflies and this is from early morning where the butterflies are drying off.

My Rose of Sharon looked good on the big TV screen last night. I got some nice feedback on it as well as my other photos from some of the 23 members who attended the club meeting. I have one more to share with you and will post it tomorrow.

Grant,
Yes, that one Is a stunner. Colorful and creative to say the least.

Peter, love the beautiful light coming through the wings. I like the perspective of this shot too.

Thanks Lorell. Someone likened it to stained glass windows.

I know you people want warming news to thaw the frosty windows.

An extreme heatwave warning has been issued for parts of northern Western Australia, with the Bureau of Meteorology predicting 50-degree temperatures.
That's 122˚F.
