Awesome, Dave.
Such pretty bright colors and the soft grey in the background really works.  Love the blossoms;  can't wait for them to start blooming around here.

I got one for you all.
I call it:  "Good Morning, Glory".

Have a good one,
LORELL

wOw Dave! You worked your magic on this set up! Background is perfect for this and the slightly out of focus (OOF) branch upper left keeps your eyes from roaming around!

Lorell,
I saw this on Flicker, beautiful! The backlighting is genius. Wonderful composition! Well done!

Nothing from me yet, heading to the Rec Center. Pool is scheduled to open early April after closing for repair since July. Going to do a NuStep machine, also doing some PT. Have a hip problem. Got a cortisone shot Thursday that helped but getting ready to set up a surgery schedule for hip replacement.

Hi Lorell and Rich, and thank you for your complimentary reactions to my photo.

Lorell, my neighbor has a growth of Morning Glories this same color. I've probably taken hundreds of photos of them, but none as good as yours. In addition to what Rich noted, I'll add that a most impressive aspect of your image is how well you handled the greens. Had they been intensely and vividly colored, they would have stolen attention from the star of the image. But the dark, neutralized green in your photo works perfectly - enough variation in hue and value and detail to be interesting, but definitely in a subordinate role. I suppose you could have just gotten lucky, but I have to believe you made some adjustments based on your always sound artistic sense.

Rich, Mother Nature performed the magic, not I. It would have been difficult to take a bad photo of what she presented to me.

I agree that the neutral gray background of my image works well, and it probably looks as if I desaturated it for a selective color effect. But other than the lower left corner (this was a somewhat gold color with areas of green grass growing up through the street and I immediately it felt was out of place with the rest of the image) and the upper left branch that Rich mentioned, I did no desaturation. I did slightly boost magenta saturation of the flowers in my COI (near the lower left Rule of Thirds hot spot), but I tried hard not to overdo this. Maybe I'm finally learning to practice restraint. Who says an old dog can't learn new tricks?

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Thank you both for those supportive comments.
Dave, I definitely worked on the leaves. THe flower was glowing from the get-go.

Rich, I am happy that your pool will be reopening as I smell the lingering odor on my body after this morning's workout. I am still enjoying the swim aerbics and swear that it and a tiny statin pill that I began taking six months ago has helped me lower my cholesterol to acceptable levels. Now I can eat all the ice cream I want without guilt. HEE HEE. I wish I were kidding.

Two great "flower" photos to start hump day. Thanks. Hi to all. Nothing from me this morning...

I am revamping my photography page. I was using format.com to manage my photos, but it has gone up in price to nearly $200 a year, so I cancelled it. Found some free software offered by my hosting company and decided to do it on my own. Format.com had too many features i didn't need. What I am using now is a simple, clean interface. So far I am liking it.

I've had an interesting day so far... cooked my breakfast, washed, dried and folded a load of clothes, worked on my web page, unclogged a main drain (which tends to act up every few months), spent some time on the radio on the Air Force Military Aux morning net, and cooked some shrimp and grits for lunch. Whew. Getting close to time for a nap. Smile

Dave, thanks for the adjustment details on your photo!

Lorell, just heard today that the scheduled opening date is April 3rd! Looking forward to the chlorine smell! I have been on 10mg of statin since 2000. They work well, but not well enough to eat ice cream everyday!

Don, I hear you on the website cost. I take care of a website for our concert series and it doubled in price this year. We opted out and will just use our FB page.

You have been busy, thanks for the food tip! Now I am planning shrimp and cheesy grits for supper, as we call it. The evening meal anyway!

I wouldn't be relying upon facebark if one sees the amount of staff Meta is shedding.
