I wish all a good weekend.

Just finished reprocessing and old (from 2007) favorite: a Katydid surrounded by colorful flowers taken in my front yard. I re-cropped and flipped it horizontally.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Love the bright colors contrasting with the insect.

Thanks Rich.

Yes, the colors (from Nasturtiums in my front yard if I remember correctly) are pretty dominating, and I had to do some things to make sure the insect was clearly the COI and not overwhelmed by the colors:

1) First I re-cropped the image to a square format and that helped.
2) Then I flipped the image horizontally, and that gave the insect much more prominence: I really like the curve of the antenna that is continued by the left rear leg, and I think the more dynamic stance of the insect finishes establishing it as the COI.

For those who like to see the unedited "before" version (from April 2007)...

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Thanks Rich.

It helped that the original photo happened to have good values and was reasonably sharp - I manage to achieve that less than 50 % of the time.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
