Those look like oyster mushrooms. I grew those in a kit one time.
Today is the first day of the Great Backyard Bird Count. I went down to a marshy area to photograph some birdies. Stilt and willets: Female pintails: Willet walking:

They are oyster mushrooms grown from a kit.
![]() Hi DD. Love your stilt and willets. We do have stilts but I haven't heard of a willet until today. Pintails too. That's another we don't have here.

Thanks for starting a Weekender, MFI. How's the hand doing today? Lovely photo of the oyster mushrooms.
Hi Darlene. Nice shots of the stilts, pintails, and willet. Other than a successful photo outing to the Bolsa Chica Wetlands in January (where I managed some shots of the increasingly rare Burrowing Owl, a good one of a Snowy Egret, and an even better one of a Great Blue Heron, and a few more), one shot of a White-faced Ibis at Huntington Beach Central Park in early February I've gotten no good bird photos. But the outing to Central Park gave me some good florals. And over the past two weeks I've concentrated on floral photos in my yard and my neighborhood. Most of these can be seen using the link below to my Flickr photos. Here's one (which I haven't identified) taken in my front yard on 2025/02/13: I wish us all a good weekend. Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him! Nikon D7500 with Nikkor 18-300 mm; PSE2021, PSCS5 Ny Flickr Albums

HEY THERE.
Good to see the weekender starting with so many and such fine images Peter, I want to grow some of those just so that I can get photos as good as that one. It is so pretty. I am trying to figure out how large this fungus is. I guess I will look it up online. Darlene, I would be sharing photos of pelicans, ibis, egrets, etc., right now, but for the first time in over ten years, I am not in Florida for the month of February. And if I went outside right now, I would only get photos of the snow falling heavily in our area. So, I will enjoy your winged friends and am excited for you as you start your annual bird hunt. Dave, I have enjoyed the flowers that you have taken in your area lately. I like the diagonal arrangement of this latest one. This Thursday is my club's monthly photo club meeting. A few weeks ago I visited Stahl's Museum. I saw this Town & Country which was recently displayed at the car museum. Although it is a 1948 Town & Country, the museum put it on display because, according to the docent, the Chrysler Corporation is celebrating its 100th anniversary. I was impressed by the vehicle and took several photographs. Since I could not decide which one was the best, I decided to combine them into a collage. Below are some details on this craftily constructed car.

Hi Lorell,
I don't think I've told you how sorry I am that you've lost your winter retreat. Thanks for your response to my photo. I love how rainy weather and gray skies make colors so much richer, and I vow to venture out into the rain to take photos as often as I can. Beautiful car and beautifully photographed, as always. What an unusual but inspired choice of paint colors! I just learned of an auto museum not too far away and after I check on their policy about taking photos I hope to visit it in the next month or so Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him! Hi Folks
I haven't been here for a while - too much happening. We've spent the last couple of weeks in Tasmania. Will be returning home to South Africa on Thursday. Took more shots on this holiday than I did in the whole of 2024. I managed to enter images in the February camera club meeting on-line. I attached copies of my images into my area of FF as usual. regards - Pete

Peter, good for you friend.
I look forward to seeing your photos and am so glad that you had such a prosperous photography vacation/trip. Dave, I am quite excited about the possibility or opportunity that you have an aoto museum near you. Hopefully the entrance fee is not ridiculously expensive . Stshl’s is absolutely free but donations are welcome . All of the money goes to Support our vets.

Another sot of the same type of flower seen in my first post above...
I think it's very photogenic. My local photo friend texted me that she's going to the wetlands tomorrow and invited me to join. Weather should cooperate: partly cloudy and temps from 51 to 59 (10 to 15 C). I'm looking forward to it. Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
