Nice peach tones in your rose, Dave. Sharp and well composed.
Moreton Bay figs were planted further south by the explorers as they crossed each river. I must go and photograph some of those that are around two hundred years old.
Further north they are quite common in the subtropics naturally.
They can grow to a very large spreading tree if they have the open space. In the denser rainforest, they attempt to take the space from other trees but are under constant assault from other trees.
Thanks, Rich. I named the photo "Peachy Keen" so I guess great minds think alike.
WOW! That is one BIG old tree!
I too send Lorell my wish for a speedy and full recovery.
Lorell, if you manage to check in here...
So how did the surgery go?
Are you buzzed on powerful pain killers?
Will you have a period of Physical Therapy? How long?
When do the medical folks say you'll be back to 100?.
By the way, Detroit has a tough game Sunday at Houston. The last I looked, Detroit was favored by 3.5 points. I'm picking them to win by at least 4. GO Lions!
Thanks MFI. Another majestic fig tree.
Although most of us don't think of plants assualting other plants, I think you are exactly correct, and I believe it's very common.
Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Hi everyone! I still have some photos from Hawai'i to process, so I may post them later. I've been busy at work. We had a scary fire in the neighborhood I used to live in. I moved out of there last year and now live very close to Lake Murray. So, I have no excuse to take photos of waterfowl and the killdeer (and the babies).
