A neighborhood sunrise taken Friday morning...

It happens quite often, especially with succulents and fern-like plants, that green leaves are edged with a strong complementary red; here's an example taken two mornings ago...

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Dave, both well done. Good exposure on both. Touch of red on the leaf is amazing!

Naturally. I'm a fan of ends and beginnings which are what I call sunsets and suunrises. Nature's light shows. Dave keeps supplying these interesting ends and beginnings to satisfy my urges. Smile

And leaves. How beautifully designed they are to accept and refuse light. Well done on both Dave. It is good to see the photograph but is often a challenge to capture it.

I too do photograph the light through leaves and the ends and beginnings of days. It is all about the light that is there to capture. Have Flickr albums devoted to both subjects.

Thank you for the kind words, gentlemen.

Rich, the red vs green thing is one I've learned to notice. As for the sunrise photo, I feel that the shapes of the clouds and the negative spaces around them are quite interesting.

MFI, your words and how you react to things you see and experience reveal the soul of a poet.

Fascinating photo; the hint of detail revealed by the intense red light emerging from the mysteriously incomprehensible shadows tease the eye and engage the imagination.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Thanks for the nice words. The leaf is a red chard that seems to love living in my garden and exists as a permanent self seeding plant that keeps me supplied with Popeye's fave snack.

and Dave, your comment is as poetic as you say mine is.
