Very nice composition Peter. I like that. Thanks for starting the weekender.

I haven't been doing too much photography, but I did take this photo when we stopped at a "peach stand" on our way back from a visit to DW's sister a few days ago. Georgia is called the Peach State but we often buy peaches in Alabama, as we did this time. They also had fresh veggies so we got squash, corn and tomatoes as well.

Peter awesoma composition and focus depth

Don, Looks like a fun stop for you. The Georgia peach truck is popular here in the north country!

Our City is doing some "Urban Art" projects. This is a utility enclosure on North Main Street. The building with the waterslide on the side is our Rec Center. where I swim laps.

Peaches yum.
Not so many peaches are grown in my area these days. There were three canneries doing peaches etc. The floods in the fifties put paid to a lot of peach orchards and eventually by the seventies, the last cannery closed. Mostly vineyards and citrus. Lately a lot of irrigable land that had rice paddy, now has corn, almonds, walnuts and olives.

Other than irrigated land there is a lot of dryland farming. Wheat and canola etc.

Rich, you have a very tidy town.

Here's another Spider orchid. This one exhibiting a rare second flower forming.

Thanks for the comments about the rusty blues.
I only took two photos and the camera decided that I was focusing entirely differently on the the first attempt.

Nice one, MFI - I love the colors, the strong diagonal, and the range of textures. Nice orchid image too.

Hi Don. Looks like a great place for farm-fresh edibles.

Rich, that's a fine job of turning unattractive bits of infrastructure into art.

Here's a shot of a neighbor's flowers, taken in half-light early yesterday morning...

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Thanks for the comments Peter and Dave!
Peter, we have a street cleaner truck out 5 days a week 3AM to 11 AM keeping us clean.

Peter, lovely orchid. Sometimes the camera gets it wrong. I miss being able to focus the lens manually.

WoW Dave! The first thing I thought of when I viewed this was a Georgia O' Keefe painting!
You nailed it! Lighting, composition, values. Beautiful!

Thanks MFI and Rich.

It was a case of right place at the right time, and not messing up the shot.
