Happy Day to everyone! A busy week for our city and good week for photos. Corn Palace Days starts today. We have concerts in the Palace and free concerts outdoors on the Plaza right next to the Plaza. Of course a must have is a carnival on Main street. We also have a farm and ranch show called Dakota Fest on the other side of town. Hope for decent weather for it all. Going downtown tonight for some night shots of the festivities.

Here are a couple of shots of our local High School Fundraiser with a boat parade. Also a short video of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aQab80g4kM

That is so cool.
I bet the music sounds great coming off the lake, it is always louder, isn't it?  I wonder what the physics is behind that effect.

I  need to do a little shopping, bread, milk, etc.  It is the "ETC." that always costs the most.  And sometimes I forget to get the bread and milk!
But before I go, I submitted this photo for my photo club's "abandoned" category.  The response was quite positive. This was a photo taken with my cell phone from inside of the Coach Bus from the Quilt Shop Hop Trip to Michigan's UP.

Good afternoon Rich and Lorell.

Always seems to be something going on during Corn Palace Days Rich. Concerts and Carnivals!

Very moody photo Lorell. I like it.

Made the 75 mile ride this morning down to a veggie stand to get some fresh tomatoes and squash. Stopped along the way to photograph this post office, which I have been wanting to do for quite some time. I had my 35mm with a 35mm lens but I couldn't get far enough away to get it all in the frame so I just shot it with my phone. It was a nice morning for a ride, mild temps and sunshine.

Thanks Lorell and Don!
Photos are a snapshot from video.

Lorell, the video I made with my on camera mic was plenty loud so I think that might be the case.

Very true Don, something going on a lot......except when the ground is white for5 or 6 months. Then it is basketball, High School and College in the Palace!

Lorell, very moody and processing matches the mood. Well done!

Don, gives new meaning to " Gonna run to the store, back in a jiffy!" Looks like a working PO, quite quaint! B&W suits the image!

Lorell, I often come out with a trolley full of stuff I didn't go to get and when I get home, there's no bread and milk. Love the mood of your photo. When I first saw it I thought the building was toppling into a stream.
The photo has some great perspective depths.

Seems you have a very social community there Rich. Noisy as well. Wink

Don, I have to go a fair way to get my goroceries and mail too but 75 miles is bit further. A drive through post Office. Smile It has lovely grey tones.
Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.

Thanks for the nice look at the boat parade, Rich.

Powerful photo, Lorell. Would be appropriate for Halloween.

A 75 mile errand! Great range and control of the values, Don.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
