Has been a while.
I'm in the middle of cataract surgery. One eye has been done for a week, the other eye next week..

This is a local mural showcasing the painted honeyeater. An endangered local species.

I wish you a speedy and full recuperation.

Nice mural of of a fine looking bird.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

It's becoming hard to get a photo of late friend and neighbor Ron' once well-tended roses. Tall weeds are taking over, obscuring the few rose blossoms that are trying to hang on.

Here's one shot taken Monday morning...

Everything in the photo except the rose is an uncontrolled weed.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

I wish you a speedy recovery, too, Peter. You will be so happy with vision correction when all healed up! What a  beautiful mural! Beautiful birds! We need more art like this in our towns!
Well, Dave, guess you could be neighborly and offer to weed the rose bed!!  Or you could plant some more roses in your yard....love seeing the roses. Even with the weeds you have a fine image!
When I was growing up on my parent's farm, we had a snowball bush. It was always a treat for me to play under it and pretend it was winter and I had all these snowballs!!  So, when I got a place of my own, I planted one. This year it has really outdone itself with blossoms!! Each one is about 3-5 inches in diameter!! They have no scent, which is a shame!  I was cutting grass on the riding mower and took some shots with my phone......

Peter, it is amazing what can be done. Had mine done several years ago.
Amazing mural of a pretty bird. I hope they stage a comeback.

Beautiful rose Dave! Ron is smiling!

Natalie, what a great looking bush! Close up has the WoW factor! Would be a fun place to play for a youngster! We had one in the yard of our first home as a young married couple.

Here is one of a water tower for the trains. Usually a small town. The water supply was about 11 miles apart, in our state anyway. The train would pull under it and the engineer would pull or (jerk) the pipe down to fill the engine with water. Consequently the small town became to be know as a "jerkwater town."

Hoping so. The surgery was done on the 15th. So far so good. On the 2nd of May, the other one gets done.

It is Thursday here and I'm trying to decide which of the dozen or so of the images I captured of this small part of an apostle bird family group.

It is in my backyard in a fig tree that really needs pruning. The rest of the dozen or more birds in the family are further up in the tree.
This is a reasonably regular event that they come and drink and bathe in a couple of dishes of water I leave out.
Not so usual that they'll allow me to go back and get a camera.

Thanks Natalie. Your snowball bush is pretty cool, and the photo of the blossoms up close is very good.

I'm afraid I can't volunteer to weed the neighbor's rose beds: I can't get ahead of the unwanted growth on my own property.

Thank you Rich. Nice capture of the water tower.

MFI, those Apostle Birds sure look chubby.

I was wondering how many trees you have planted over your lifetime/

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
