Sorry to have been AWOL for a few days. I had a strange PC problem: my screen display became black & white. It took several frustrating days to get color back. I figured it was a setting in Windows that I accidentally triggered, but it turns out that my monitor itself can be set to B&W, and my clumsy fingers must have pressed the combination of shortcut keys that direct the monitor to display everything in grayscale.

For lack of a better photo, here's one taken this morning of tall palms glowing red and orange in the still partial light from the very intense morning sun's rays...

Dave, sorry to hear of your monitor trouble. Yes, I sometimes do that as I am typing but nothing that serious.

Great color and contrast on this one. The orange color contrasting with the blur-grey sky is pleasing and has impact! I just finished a watercolor of a northern flicker bird. A friend had a photo of one and I asked to paint it. I will give him an 8 x 10 for the use of his photo.
Next up is Natalie's Bluebird and his house!

Thanks Rich.

I see reports that several areas of the US have been warned about severe storms coming soon, and it looks like they may get close to you.

Stay safe.

Dave, yes, thanks! We are in the watch area but on the northern edge as of today. That may change though. Looks a lot worse further south!
