Good day friends.

My area will have rain over 5 of the next 6 days; probably the heaviest today will be about the I embark on my early morning walk.

No new photos, so I took a ride in the Way Back Machine to June of 2017. I don't remember where I took this photo, but if I remember the conditions, it was one of those days with a uniform hazy sky that allowed moderate to bright brightness through that is often ideal for photos of flora.

Newly reprocessed this morning...

Awesome Dave! Excellent soft lighting. The foreground flower is growing out of the frame. A nice 3D effect! This would be a perfect candidate for an Out Of Bounds Manip!
Sorry to hear of your rainy days ahead. That should help you get caught up to normal maybe!

Here is another scanner photo. I did a very thin slice of apple to have light come through it.

Hi Rich, and thanks.

I remember a thread years ago on WetCaanvas about the Out of Bounds look. Nice effect.

I really like your scanner photo. Great composition, wonderful light and values, and nice organic shapes. Very thin slice indeed - I'm guessing either a steady hand and am extremely sharp knife or a Mandolin slicer.

Despite the rains, I still took my early walk. Knowing that my normal route often has deep unavoidable puddles, I tried a different one. Big mistake - I was forced to slosh through a puddle of fast moving water that was so deep it covered the top of my ankle high boots and soaked my feet. On the way back I tried yet another route that was much better, so I'll use that from now on. But my feet are still cold some 6 hours later.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Dave, your photo is probably of an Acer but it does look like a breed of Cannabis with either a serious deficiency or a variegation. Smile Definitely out of bounds.

I had thought of many things to scan but mostly never got arouund to it because the scanning of large hailstones did wreak havoc with the glass coatings.

Rich, that is an awesomely imaginative scan of a thin apple slice.

This is a tree fondly known as lemon scented gum.
Which the indigenous used as a mosquito repellant.

Great macros fellas.
Peter, lemon scented gum…If you crush the leaves, do they smell like lemon?

Yes. They do. The name citriodora, actually says, smells like citrus.

The sub-group of Eucalyptus which contains the bloodwoods, is now split off and has had the name changed from Eucalyptus to Corymbia.
So what used to be known as Eucalyptus citriodora, is now Corymbia citriodora.
Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.
