Hi Y'all,
How is it going?
Today is a good day, make that a great day for all the people in the METRO DETROIT area after the Detroit LIONS victory over the LA RAMS in a nail-biter, 23-24 victory. The first playoff victory in 32 years. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No wonder people were crying in the stands.

So, is everyone staying warm out there?  Wow, what a blast of cold temps out there.  I am sure glad that we did not lose power over the weekend despite the super heavy wet snow and windy conditions.  There was and still is so much ice out there, one has to be careful just taking out the garbage.  I was going to take my camera out and take photos, but thought better of it after I spent enough time out there shoveling snow and ice and freezing my fingertips and toes.

This week is our monthly photo club meeting, so that means I have some photos that I will run by you.  I don't think I even took a photo with my camera in the last month, so I have to use photos I took with my cell phone or from my archives.

Here is one.  One of our categories is Color Creative.  Although this is B&W, there are a lot of manipulation applications applied to the original. And that is what we are supposed to do.

Interesting idea and manip! Gives it a gritty look which is perfect for the subject!

Starting the warm up and less wind tomorrow. Been a long four days!

Hey Lorell.

I was gonna PM you my congratulations for the Lions victory, but I figured we'd hear from you today.

Yesterday's results pleased me. It's great that Detroit won. (I was born and raised in Michigan, so I've been a lifetime Lions fan. I remember as far back as Bobby Layne and Nick Pietrosante.) And one team I absolutely despise is Dallas, so the thrashing Green Bay gave them made my day.

Impressive image. Even at the small size for posting I can see that a lot of subtle work went into it. No doubt it looks even better full size.

I haven't heard any thing about my lens repair, so I'm still using my old Canon.

Here is this morning's sunrise, taken from the middle of the street in front of my house...

Well the Buffalo / Pittsburgh game will start soon, and I need to check on my game-watching snacks and brews.

Stay safe and warm.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Hi ya boys.

Rich, as usual we get your weather, whether good or bad, a few days after you experience it. The frigid temps started yesterday and Is suppose to be the worst on Wednesday . Schools are already announcing school closings for the next two as they had today off for Martin Luther King day.

Grant, I do not want to complain too loud when I read the temps that you are experiencing . I like your second shot a lot with the great contrasting elements. As much as I wanted to go outside and take some photos of the ice and snow these last few days, after seeing what you can do with clean windows and from the inside of your house, who needs to go outside?

Peter, You made me smile.

Dave,
For the last few days I have been listening to the sport stations on the radio. For days they talked about their predictions, but today they just went on and on about the history breaking victory.

Right now DH @ and I are watching the PIT VS BUFFALO Game and watching the fans throwing snow in the air to celebrate touchdowns. Some fans actually built a snowman in one of the isles. I remember sitting in the stands in November watching MSU FOOTBALL GAMES. It was cold and snowy. I couldn’t wait to get back to the dorms . It was pure torture. I cannot imagine what these fans are going through tonight just standing or hopping around in one place in the stadium. The temp in Buffalo is 19 degrees but feels like 7! That darn wind chill gets you every time. And there are a lot of players getting hurt and that is not good.

And Dave, thanks for the golden sunlight. Ahh,it warms me up just looking at it.

Another storm rolled past again this morning. We got about half a millimetre.

Edit; The power went out while I was posting. The storms must have struck a tansformer somewhere nearby.
Since then we had 31mm while I was having a grandpa nap. Lovely sunrise Dave and beautiful frozen stars Grant. I'm glad you laughed Lorell.

Storms are still here..
