Almost didn't start a daily since there was zero activity yesterday, other than my opening post. But I'm here, so, hope all are doing well.

Hey there, Don.
All is going well here. We finally got some cooler weather.  Felt good to sleep with the windows open.

I got a new (used car) last year and I still have no idea what some of the buttons and levers do.  I have a 600-page manual that I need to continue to study.
But my car's console and gear shift certainly does not look like this one below, nor do I have the option of switching my fuel to NITROUS OXICDE!  This car was something else. At the cruise last week, some of us talked to the Guy who modified this MUSTANG's  engine.

That is quite a complicated "cockpit" on that Mustang. I'll wager he has a pretty penny tied up in that jewel.

I got curios about nitrous oxide in cars so I found this on the 'Net: "Nitrous Oxide is a colorless, non-flammable gas (at room temperature) that is used in automotive racing to dramatically increase horsepower. Nitrous Oxide does not increase horsepower by burning, it is an Oxidizer that allow an engine to burn more fuel by significantly increasing the oxygen content of the mixture."

WoW Lorell, that is quite the ride! Back to the Future, be careful getting to 88 MPH!

Don, interesting info on how the gas reacts in a car, had no idea. I believe this was called laughing gas too and my dentist used it instead of novacaine. Good pain killer. I really liked it. My Dentist retired and the new techie Dr. charges extra for it. I don't use it anymore.

From Lorell's amazing car to the exact opposite!

Nitrous Oxide, aka laughing gas? I had no idea of it's use in auto racing.

As Don noted, quite an impressive set of dials and toggle switches. Which one enables warp drive?

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

One of the members pointed out the contents of the trunk of this Mustang. It had three rectangular Steel box-like containers securely bolted inside the trunk. One was labeled Nitrate Oxide. I am kicking myself now for not taking a photo of the trunk. So, the car no only had its hood up but also its trunk! Do you see the RED lever like looking thing behind the gear shift (not the red button). Next to that is the label "NITRATE booster" I think. I know it says NITRATE then a second word.

What makes your photo powerful, Rich, is the American FLAG! And look at the size of those wheels! They look enormous on that LOW RIDING TRUCK.

Rich, that sure is a unique truck. But I gotta believe it wasn't driven in this configuration: the long exhaust pipe looks to be blocking the door and is so low that it would surely be destroyed by contact with the street surface.

Again from the archives (mid May 2018) when A female Anna's Hummingbird built a nest steps from our front door, laid two eggs, and raised her hatchlings.

The female Anna's lays 2 or 3 clutches a year between December and June; each typically with 2 eggs.

This shot probably is of the second or third brood. The previously used nest was repaired and refreshed; I suspect by the same female who initiallybuilt and used it.

It's hard to grasp how tiny the nest is - usually 1 inch (2.5 cm) high and 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) wide. this would make the cup about the size of a table tennis ball.

The photo (as usual reprocessed from the original shot) shows the hatchlings very newly emerged from the eggs - maybe minutes, maybe an hour after.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Yes it is about the same size as a willie wagtails nest.

Dave, I remember that 2018 photo essay. So tiny! Well built nest!
