Good morning all. Temps are still warm here, upper 80's to lower 90's but better than a couple of weeks ago. We are leaving Sunday for a week long camping trip in W. Virginia where the temps will be much better. Several days of showers forecast for that area but we can handle that. I got the issues with the stripped lug nuts on the trailer wheel sorted yesterday so we are good to go.

I'll start the day with something that arrived for me yesterday...  Hope all have a good day.

Yes, brand new as of Wed. It is a Fender Stratocaster, different from my other electric guitars. I have 3 electric and (I think) 6 acoustic guitars.

Very impressive, Don.

Hi Lorell.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Don, what a cool edition to your collection! My son was in a band for many years ( since Middle school) playing guitar. Covid took care of that.

Thanks guys. I have been playing a lot more electric lately since I don't "play out" anymore and haven't played with any friends since the Kerrville festival of May last year. Although I am taking an acoustic guitar with me on our camping trip.

What makes this one different, DON?

Well, it has 3 pickups instead of 2 and they are single coil rather than humbuckers (which are kind of like 2 single coil pickups wound in opposite directions to reduce hum - hence the name). Also has a 5 way switch to select different combinations of PUs for different tones. My Telecaster style has 2 PUs as does my Gretsch, each with its own distinctive sound.

Wish I'd put some time into practicing the guitar. Haven't picked one up for ages.
Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.

Me too. I've played off and on for years but never reached the proficiency that I wanted. Now, with age, I find it more difficult to play as well. Currently I am taking an online course in Practical Music Theory and am learning a lot of stuff that I didn't know but should have. Never stop learning.
