TGIF everyone.

After wasting many hours dealing with the DMV (and accomplishing very little) yesterday, I'm way behind on the things I need to do this morning.

Here's a shot from yesterday morning of an Agapanthus (correctly identified by MFI yesterday) that I spotted just as a serendipitous ray of light highlighted the emerging blossom. Little processing was needed: cropping and rotating for composition, adjusting saturation (up and down) ins selected areas, and the usual selective USM.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Another Beauty Dave! Edit to Add: I like the lighting and the black BG gives the image punch!

Perfect for the changing of the Guard Ceremony of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington Cemetery, Washington, DC.

Naughty shot of Aggie losing her pants. Wink Nice work Dave.

It was a nice clear day for the changing of the guard.
Now for a photo which could almost be in grey and grey or at least, in a grey area. From my archives on fungi.
Birds nest fungi.

Thanks Rich. This was an easy one, as the nicely lit scene was right there in front of me. About all I had to do was avoid messing it up.

I like your two shots of the Changing of the Guard ceremony. Faultless compositions, and what looks to be a challenging scene to expose well didn't cause you any problems; no blown-out whites and full details in the darks - excellent value control.

Hi MFI. I'm not sure I grasp the nuances of your Aussie idiom, but I choose to take it as a complement. So I thank you.

Interesting cup-like structures, and like Rich's photos the values are well controlled.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

It was in jest because you caught the flower in the process of undressing and it was meant to be complimentary. Wink

We call agapanthus 'Aggies Pants' over here.

MFI,

I knew it was a harmless play on words, and I wasn't offended. Just one of those things that doesn't translate well from one country to another - kinda like this one: "No harm, no foul."

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

This species of birds nest fungi are usually less than 8mm across the widest part in my area but some are up to 12mm. They occur in the litter under Casuarina trees I planted about forty years ago. Cyathus olla is a native species.
